We were in L1 when he took over with a useless, overpaid squad of players of only which a handful wanted to be there. We've tried high profile managers and they have all failed, so Ross seemed a decent appointment. Ultimately not up to it by who would have been.
If you look on Eastleigh forums thats not the impression you get. Their fans seem to quite like him. There is some minor criticism of him but nothing at all like he gets from us.
He knew all that when he came, made promises and failed to keep them ... ... there's been no success.
Exactly... ...so he didn't do a 'rank bad job at Eastleigh'... ...which was the point I was making...
Don't disagree, just not a total failure. Probably being pedantic. We all agree he needs to get going. Some of Fanzines folk seem to be leaking he is not in meaningful talks and wants to see it through to end of season and hopefully promotion. My God...
Don has been a total failure here like. Spent 4mil on agents fees and near on the same on 2 strikers as well as stripping the academy out. And we're still in league one. Sooner he ****s off for good the better.
Aye, fair comment if that’s the case, I haven’t looked, but spending the rumoured £10m at that level and not getting them into the EFL would amount to a rank bad job in my book. If they’re happy to have him back that’s their look out.
I only give a **** what he has done here, complete incompetence. How the hell you can’t say he’s been a failure here when you look at the financial advantage we had, is beyond me. He appointed a manager who is only ever a short term appointment, one who is renowned for boring football and about 3 promotions in 17 years as a manager, sold every decent kid we had, employed mates in positions they weren’t qualified for and has oversaw the worst position, twice, in the whole history of the club, yet some posters claim he isn’t all that bad.
He hasn’t got any legitimate defence for his time here, particularly his selling off of the kids for buttons the recruitment team he employed and plumping for Parkinson to replace Ross.
