Henderson is decent. But you can hide yourself in midfield and get away with **** performances. Goalkeepers have nowhere to hide. Everyone notices if you have a **** performance. Tough gig!

True enough, but it was nice to see a Mackem lift the CL trophy, even if it was in a scouse shirt...

With the judicious use of brackets, yes, Sunderland are a very decent football side (by League 1 standards).

Henderson deserves respect. Pickford I'd have been ok with but that game for Everton when they were leading and he started giving it the big I AM to the crowd only for us to then win 3-2 and he had an absolute shocker was hilarious.

I don't think I've ever seen an opposing player as bothered by the crowd and occasion as he was that day. Honestly he has been worse ever since.

Think this sums it up for me - wasn't too bothered about him until he started to give it the big 'un during that game and then karma bit him on the arse big style

If you just watch Mannone during each of those goals, he must have been given a bung throw the game. OK so he had no chance with the thunderbolt opening own goal, but each of the goals Saints actaully scored he either dives away from the ball, or fumbles it into the net, or passes to the their striker.

You're all still ****ers, of course, but hats off for this. Respect <ok>

Generous Newcastle fans provide food for thought

A short while ago, we told you that Newcastle fans had raised £16,000 for a local food bank after refusing to paying £15 to watch Saturday’s game against Manchester United on pay-per-view.

Make that £19,000! That's the estimation of the beneficiaries, Newcastle’s West End food bank.

"We so appreciate the generosity of the Newcastle fans," said chief executive John McCorry.

"It will make a great difference. We are feeding 1,000 people a week and use 10-plus tonnes of food every month, which costs £1,700 a tonne, so these donations are really needed.

"We have had donations from London, Spain and America, so it’s not just locally that the interest has gathered. It really seems to have taken off."
