Half expected it mate, as I said earlier if the Skriniar deal is truly dead and buried this early on in deadline day then it makes sense to go plan B.

Not someone I particularly want but at the same time I'm so down on our CBs that I think I'd begrudginly take Rudiger if it means getting a short term upgrade - providing he will be an upgrade. 2017-2019 Rudiger seemed great, not sure what's gone wrong the last 12-18 months.

@BobbyD what's your honest view on this? Has Rudiger gone down the pan or is Lampard just stupidly dropping him?

Why a loan? We'll just give him to them, surely?

Read what it actually says and it doesn't make any sense. Milan looking to get in a defender which opens the way for Spurs to get a defender - but not the one at Milan, the one at a completely different club. I mean ????

The defender called Milan plays in Milan, but not for Milan.
Milan wanted Rudiger, so Chelsea would've had that option, but they've decided to sign Mohamed Simakan, instead.
Milan, Milan, Milan, Milan, Milan. <ok>

I read it that because Milan are signing a defender and that fills the gap in their team so they won't be pursuing Rudiger leaving us in the box seat

I think that’s it now to be honest. Normally there’s something that’s gathered pace by this point.

great window! Shame not to get a CB, but we’re only 10 weeks away from the next opportunity to bring one to the club!

    coys!

I think it’s likely just media busywork but Rodon is a promising young player. Suspect he’d be a buy and loan back for this season if the interest is genuine.

As a Cardiff fan it hurts me to say Swansea man Rodon is a good, young CB and will improve in the right environment with good coaching.

That's right. Dunn was over Unger and I was over Dunn.

The way he’s talking makes it sound a lot more final than a loan.

The Joe Rodon talk is hotting up. Worth noting that we have until the end of the EFL extended window to get that one done. So today isn’t the deadline. I think.

Apparently the Goons are finally going to get their man in Athletico’s Partey. No idea what he’s like as a player but he seems to have been their main target all summer.

When he first came i really liked him. He had a bit of a down year but then again our whole defence was exposed and he often played left centre back, next to alonso who is probably even worse defensively than aurier but we don't have the midfield shielding of sissoko or winks.

Last season, he did make quite a few errors but i think he's not too shabby but maybe a bit low on confidence. He can ping a ball and he's got a bit of a presence about him but he can be a bit rash.

I don't quite rate Sanchez as much as you do, and whilst sanchez is the more athletic, i would probably prefer Rudiger but too be honest i don't think he's a grade above your current defenders. The other thing is, him, christensen, zouma are all not organisers which i think you need in a back 2. Right now frank is switching between them all but i think will probably stick with zouma as he's probably got the best recovery speed

If we want Rodon to be a part of the Europa squad though he has to be registered by 11pm tomorrow. Anyone know much about him?

Partey is phenomenal by the way, very, very good signing for them. One man midfield, defends, attacks and creates. Honestly surprised he’s leaving Atleti for them, good enough for any team in Europe in my opinion.
