Sensible World of Soccer or SWOS as it was known took that game to a new level, it was a great game back in the day alongside Kick Off 2 on the old Amiga. International Superstar Soccer moved over to the original PS and Xbox as ISS Pro as well I think and was the original incarnation of what is now Pro Evo? I stopped playing FIFA years ago, they've took the enjoyment out of the game by going way too technical with defending and stuff. Took the enjoyment out of a good old simple game
Previous versions from years ago were not as bad similar tec issues. I think its a style and hype thing they have put in. As is the way with todays commentators.
Yeah it’s acceptable for grown men to watch imaginary people on TV in their imaginary lives, but not to play games? Games nowadays are incredibly engaging and complex and you know keeping your brain stimulated has a massive positive effect on brain function as you get older, so it’s actually a good thing to keep gaming, Emmerdale doesn’t. Its always baffled me this viewpoint, we all spend our down time differently and that’s the wonder of it. Downtime is exactly that. I thought this stigma for older lads gaming disappeared about 25 years ago to be fair, I don’t know a single lad in my circle that doesn’t game. All are north of 30 with lasses and good jobs.
Drinking can go as well, that’s another thing I started in my teens.... in fact better cancel everything other than work and the news.
Decided to buy the digital version of the game this year, guarantees me a free upgrade to the PS5 edition, once I get the PS5. Looks like they've focused on the career mode a little more this year, it is my go-to mode to be fair, can't be dealing with online mode as I get too agitated easily, games are meant to be fun and relaxing in a way, not annoying or irritating.
I’m same mate. Career mode looks excellent, I’ve not gone too deep into it as they’ve confirmed a day one patch to add player heads, kits and sponsors so I just had a piss about in the 10 hour trial. The new player development stuff is excellent. I only play career mode, don’t touch owt else.
Now when they say day one, do they mean the Tuesday (Champions Edition) release day or the standard edition day? ha ha I usually have around 3 or 4 games of exhibition games to get used to the new things they may have added before I go into career mode
Ha, I asked same question. I don’t know. I don’t wanna start a career then they do the patch as there’s lots missing. Elland Road for one if you’re doing English career. Might just piss about with CL/Libertadores till the patch including transfer window is on. Was gonna switch to PS but due to dual entitlement I’ll probs stick with Xbox.
I'm the same mate, I play games to unwind and playing other people can be a pain in the arse. Not that playing against the computer is a guarantee of a stress free time, I broke a controller not long ago by bouncing it off the carpet when I was losing something like 9-0 to Barcelona in the first half. Still pisses me off a bit now just thinking about it
Aye when it just decides you aren’t gonna be allowed to pass for half a game of tackle. Winds you right up that.
Yeah it's annoying as hell, every time I tried to basic pass to another player bang another goal conceded. I only got to half time by standing still near my own goal and thankfully the computer didn't try to tackle me. I know why they use the system to try and make it unpredictable but damn in that game it was broken. I'm the same as you, if all there was when you load the game up was career mode that'd be fine with me.
Na me neither, usually choose who’s kits look best, was Arsenal last year, there away are **** this season Might do a Man United.
I usually start with a newly promoted side to the Prem, was going to do Leeds, until I found out Elland Road isn't going to be on Fifa 21 (just yet)... I am a bit meticulous when it comes to stadiums and such ha. Siding with Fulham at the moment, as the WBA kits mess with my eyes.
I’d already decided on Leeds, same thing though, they’ll add Elland Road later then I’ll go with them. Was messing around on the trial and just looking at the new stadiums added and they look good, Union Berlin one looks brilliant and the Portland one looks superb, just couldn’t play MLS. Ridiculous some of the missing face scans as well, they have used Covid as an excuse to be lazy as ****, didn’t scan Greenwood, one of the best prospects in world football. Seems daft.
