Likely Bullshit Watch Footy Insider report that Inter have offered us Christian Eriksen on loan After that insult, we have to Levy Skriniar out of them
TDD is not what it used to be nothing significant happening today will have to stick to an 8/10 rating for the window. 10/10 depends on CB incoming because I think it’s our weakest area and one I believe will scupper us mounting a serious challenge for the t**le, over the course of the season.
Just had a browse of their squad and I think that's correct. Their current left-back has missed all of their games this season with a shoulder injury of some description. They signed Jacob Bruun Larsen from Dortmund for the left-wing this summer, but he hasn't played either. Robert Skov, who I'm sure you remember us being linked with, has been used on that side, despite being a right-winger.
Ornstein did actually report that earlier (he’s pretty reliable to be fair) but did say we baulked at the wages side of things. Very surprised he’s someone Jose would like as well, doesn’t strike me as a “Jose CB”, only really benefit he has is being HG. Far too error prone for my liking though, we’ve got enough of those at the moment as it is.
I hate to say it, but it sort of makes some vague sense. He wouldn't disturb the homegrown balance and would allow us to put back signing a centre-half until next season. Maybe Mourinho could get a performance out of him? He's a good footballer. Needs to be a lot stronger defensively, though. Injury issues would be a big deal, in my opinion.
Everton supposedly looking at Gazza too. That’d be a good move for him, Pickford is shaky as **** at the moment and he’d have a real chance of making first choice there if Pickford continues to fumble.
Still time, but experience would tell us that if we’re not hearing anything positive by about 4pm, it’s game over.
I think the Skriniar move may truly be dead but the club is now likely working on alternatives. It’s much better to find out now Skriniar won’t happen than say 10:30pm with just half hour remaining. I’d imagine Rudiger/ Stones are now next in line. Can’t say either fill me with huge confidence but if Jose wants either then I trust his judgement.
totally agree. Don’t want a 10.30 let down! the truth is, no one really knows what is going on today. I’m sure the likes of Ally Gold can provide info in due course on any other given day in the window, but I’m not convinced they can today. As I’ve said, today is a game of poker. Reporters could be told 1 thing (to provide a smokescreen) but the club could actively be doing something else.
This one is a bonus, so be an optimistic pessimist (assume it will not happen so no emotion, happy if it does) .
Of all the journos around, he is the one who I genuinely take their word for. You’re though that it could be the club is sending out false signals to then explode with the good news but I do now think Inter just won’t negotiate any further, especially if they can’t find a replacement in time. Credit to the club though, they’ve honesty tried bringing in a top CB to go along with the quality signings window we’ve made. Won’t really have any complaints from me, just need to hope Harry and co are able to continue bailing out our blubbering mess of current CBs for the next few months.
I rate Rudiger, he hasn't been great for a while but show me a Chelsea defender who has performed. Not sure give the history how he would fit in.
