Jogging - a GPO manhole cover was raised. Smashed my wrist into 7 pieces. Operation the following day in Morriston - let’s say the operation was ‘sub-optimal’. Had it done ‘properly’ in Llandough 15 days later by the the guy the WRU uses for hand/wrist surgery. He said that the initial operation was ‘a mess‘ and looked like it was ‘performed by an unassisted junior’ - which it bloody was.....I was awake throughout the operation in Morriston - I had a nerve block, and the Registrar who should have been performing the surgery turned up over half way through and breezed into the operating theatre in a blue suit - so much for an operating theatre being a sterile area .... The plate that was inserted was not only too long, but ‘skewiff’
