Could we hijack West Ham's bid for Jonathan Tah. Always liked him, surely he is too good to go to West Ham.

Can’t see us signing anyone today

we have had a good approach to the window...don’t see why we should be struggling to get Skriniar across the line last minute if there is any possibility.

Our extra funds through Europa were confirmed on Thursday so If that is what we were waiting for as many think...in order to finalise the transfer...it would be done by now.

can see a few outgoing confirmed today though

Sess’ loan to Hoffenheim should be confirmed anytime soon I’d imagine.

Liverpool are supposedly looking at Gazza.

Doesn’t look like we’ll be able to shift Rose yet, there’ll still be roughly two weeks after today to sell/ loan him to an English club but even then it’s looking doubtful.

Gazza to Liverpool would be great for him, but not convinced that he is a huge upgrade on Adrian, but a permanent deal with a half decent fee would surely be good business too.

Rose is finished as a top flight player, not sure his ego will allow him to drop down to the championship, so I still think that we will pay him off and then its up to him MLS maybe?

dont want Gazza to go to Pool

I like Gazza...if he wants me to see him as a c*nt sat on the Pool bench then that’s fine...I’ll be wishing him all the worst...I wont be wanting him to shine in goal for them

    hope he stays

I think he’s had a raw deal here to be honest. For Hart to have joined and immediately gone straight above him in the pecking order must have been a kick in the bollocks.

I wouldn’t begrudge him a move, especially if we make a sizeable profit on the £2.5m we paid for him. It may go towards a late push for Skriniar/ new CB.

MLS might be a good bet for Rose. If Newcastle didn’t want him on a perm then the likelihood of another Prem side wanting him is virtually impossible. The Cagliari and Genoa deals seem to have gone dead and I can’t see him getting in a Spanish team’s XI.

    dont give up hope.
I know it sounds crazy me saying that, and I’m sure I would have done in previous windows stemming back 3-4 years. But we’ve had a shift in attitude this summer.

Skriniar/Inter seems to be a game of poker at the moment. Let’s see what happens.

even if he fails, I expect us to bring another centre back.
Personally I don’t think Jose will feel comfortable about his options in that position at the moment.
Tanganga is young and inexperienced, Toby isn’t the level he used to be, Dier is hot and cold, and Sanchez has a mistake in him (or several). - he knew this about Serge and went and got Doherty.

I’ll be amazed if we haven’t got a CB either by the end of today, or before the end of the domestic deadline. <ok>

Unless my categories are wrong, aren't we overstocked now for Overseas players - not even going to attempt to look at EL squad with the club trained requirement I'm assuming we'll need to leave a few out in that. For EPL I think Gazza has to go sadly as I make it 18 players and we can only have 17?

    1 Hugo Lloris
    22 Paulo Gazzaniga
    4 Toby Alderweireld
    6 Davinson Sanchez
    24 Serge Aurier
    33 Ben Davies
    3 Sergio Reguilon
    5 Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg
    30 Gedson Fernandes (Turned 21 on 09 Jan - is that U21?)
    15 Eric Dier
    17 Moussa Sissoko
    28 Tanguy Ndombele
    11 Erik Lamela
    23 Stephen Bergwijn
    18 Giovani Lo Celso
    27 Lucas Moura
    7 Heung-Min Son
    45 Carlos Vinicius

I think Gedson does still need to be registered although not 100% certain. Though I really think the club should look at cancelling his loan.

He’s got a good amount of talent but it doesn’t seem the right fit for us and he’s not gonna get a proper look-in here, 60 mins in the league cup is all he’s had so far in what’s been a really congested period for the club, if that’s all he can get at a time where games were coming thick and fast, it’s hard to see him getting more game time when things are a bit more spread out. If he is definitely taking up a squad place too, it’s even more necessary to cancel the loan.

So Davies is Homegrown for EPL and Gedson U21. Those are the differences in my post.

I guess Gazza and Gedson miss out on Europa. If an overseas Centre Half is signed, going to be difficult deciding who else misses out.

Wouldn't be surprised if Gedson is dropped from the Europa squad, so that's one place covered

    As for CBs, it depends
If we sign Skriniar, one of Toby or Sanchez will likely make way
If we sign Kim Min-jae, we probably won't register him for the Europa squad

Wonder if the club have considered offering Toby in the Skriniar deal? Conte favours a back three and Toby can play there. Both CBs aren’t favoured by their current managers and it’d surely help bridge the gap between Inter’s valuation(?). Would be a deal that in theory should favour both parties.

If Dier's our first choice centre-half, which seems to be the case, then just leave him out.
Play the others in the Europa group stage and see where we go from there.
