Westwood, Laing, colback, Meyler, McCLean, Cook, Ji

That's our subs bench from yesterday's game.

It was said so many times during the summer that we'd really improved the depth of quality in our squad, even if we hadn't signed any superstars. Looking at that subs bench, how can we possibly say that? There's barely a PL game between them.

No competition there for the starting places really. Nobody there you'd expect to change a game. Serious lack of attacking quality, IMO.

The colback for Cattermole substitution baffled me. Put Larsson in the middle and put McClean on the left wing i.e take Cattermole off for McClean. Go and win the game against a team we'd started to dominate. At the end of the day, there was wasn't enough quality on the bench despite this belief we'd improved this area.

Vaughan, Wickham, Campbell(??) would strenghten it a bit, but tbh agree what your saying.
Cattermole for a player who can do about as much as well er.......Cattermole (in terms of creativity, defence splitting passes, shooting/scoring) is what you would expect from Bruce. Clueless...

And i did think of those players before writing this article, but its only a couple of players (if we exclude Campbell who's been out for ages) out and we're down to the bare bones. People were getting well carried away with our squad depth duing the summer. Looking at that subs bench is rather galling.

I don't know the extend of Wickham's injury, nor Vaughan's, but what happens if neither is fit for the Arsenal game with Bendtner also ineligable for that game. Sessegnon alone up front again? Ji?

Save the bus fare and just give them the points???? Don't really know. Arsenal are struggling and if they get beat today they will be looking to hammer someone pretty soon. Anyone guess who that will be??
