It's got to be Tierney. The guy has just impresses me hugely. I would also have my close second as ruddy. Full of confidence and not far away from England for sure.
Tierney again! Got to be honest, when we signed him I thought he'd be back up to Drury. Since he first got in the side there's been no stopping him, and the step up from Championship to Premier league has just taken him up another level. So far this season, everything about him has screamed Premier league full back. On the England front, did anybody else see the story about Johnson and the provisional squad? I've been hugely impressed by Johnson, but I wouldn't have forecast that! Nothing in it at this stage, of course, but it won't do his confidence any harm being mentioned. Another one for Tierney but in truth they have all adapted pretty well to life at the top. A bit of a stutter in the first few games but they are all starting to look back to their confident best
I have to agree with Thai, Tierney has been exceptional, but so have Ruddy, Johnson, Bennett, Pilkington, Rusty, and Barnett, there's not a gnat's todger between the lot of them
He's running fast, he's running free The best left back you'll ever see He wears the number twenty three He's super super Tierney
Looks like a great reaction for Tierney. Who would have thought a year a go he would be first choice left back ahead of Drury who has always done so well for us.
Bradley Johnson for me only game he wasn't playing at his best was against Sunderland and he wasn't exactly terrible. Most of our midfield have been excellent and the fullbacks have been good too.
Pants Martin has been sensational at CB and has helped stop the silly goals and red cards. He has the pace, positional sense and reads the game ahead of itself.
Tierney has done so well, but I've opted for Rusty Martin for playing out of position when we have a centre-back crisis and looking as solid as a rock! Also his runs seems to of done some damage up the pitch too. Ruddy, Hoolahan, Bennett, Johnson also been terrific.
For me it is a close run thing between Ruddy, Tierney and Johnson. Although Rusty had been brilliant as a makeshift CB, I think after a couple of games only, it is too soon to be giving him player of the season so far. If he stays there at CB, and carries on the way he has started, then he surely will be in the running for the player of the season. As a ps, how come Ruddy hasn't even been mentioned as a possible for the England squad?
Another one for Tierney. At the moment he's looking like the Premier League quality signing everyone wanted us to make in pre-season.
has to be tierney, he's been magnificent. special mention for johnson though who i think has probably surprised a number of us with how good he has been. not bad for a freebie... indeed, tierney was only £75k! amazing value!!
