Yes he always came across well. Didn't have much time at Cabinet level though.

If they had that population, they'd have been bigger than us anyway, unless we included East Riding catchment area.

Wikipedia suggests the population is <100k.

Just that you listed them amongst the clubs which had never had a league club. Though I thought you knew that.

It seems to me that some on here are looking to blame posters for people not being allowed at games.

Not me by the way, I don't think I've actually made an opinion.

Aren't you guys complaining to the wrong people?

I doubt there's anyone on here who could help you.

Listen, Not606 doesn't make the rules.

I doubt if Wakefield is a quarter the size of Hull. When I worked in York, people there had no idea Hull is about three times bigger than York. This city will always have a small image.

    Which is nice, isn't it?

Edit: let me expand. Why is it such an amazing thing to live in the biggest cities?

Castro, for instance, lives in Brid, which is just a crap seaside town where people go to in retirement. Yet he constantly talks about how small Hull is.

Is bigger better? If so why? Surely better is better?

You only have to hear the reaction from people who come to Hull and see the likes of the Marina to know we have a lot going for us.

You want Big? Go to the US, Canada and enjoy <laugh>

    Just making a point fella.
FYI I have been to the US and Canada on many occasions.
I have relatives in Niagara Ontario, Toronto and Glenn Burnie, Maryland. Unfortunately I wasn't able to go this year due to c19, which was a disappointment. And yes I enjoy going over.

Who has said Hull is small? I have said it is not as good as some smaller, more successful places. Norwich for example. Others big up other places taking all the surrounding areas whilst only counting those within the city boundaries in Hull.
Brid may be crap. But it doesn't say much for the places people leave, like Hull, for a better place to live in retirement. Who sells up to move to Hull, or any major city, to spend their retirement there?
The only people overawed by the marina would be people who have never seen a marina before. Especially the many bigger ones.

    There you go again! Bigger!

What is the obsession with bigger is better and as you are very opinionated on the subject I thought you'd be a good case in point, that's all.

I was in Hull Minster the other week. Very nice indeed.

I know quite a few people that have done precisely that. Plenty that come to Hull Uni remain in the area. I don't know if it still holds true, but It's not that long ago the Uni had the largest retention rate in the UK.
