Celtic are spending, realistically in line with income if income from the champions league is available. Do you actually know how much the running costs of Celtic are? Last season it was at least double that of Rangers. Over 80 million quid I'm sure. Players wages were a large portion of that. This is the second season in a row that CL money has been unavailable yet you're saying that they are controlling spending whilst pointing out that they have never spent as much on the defence.

I'm not saying they haven't spent money. I'm saying that they haven't had value for the money they have spent and therefore the team has been degraded.

Perhaps if they spent money before being turfed out of the CL by no mark teams they would have fared a lot better.

Celtic fans love to bang on about Rangers spending money they don't have but compare the starting line ups in today's two games and you'll find that the Rangers team cost a fraction of what the Celtic team cost.

Yet, when Ciaran gets around to posting the league table, you will see we are top of the league. Even with your game in hand that has to be a great achievement. We are actually punching above our weight financially wise.

If we win the next game, which I think is a distinct possibility, then it will actually go down as a modern day miracle.
