Alfie looks like a fish out of water, being asked to play various roles he's not used to. I know that Bowyer wants him to play to his strengths, but his game has gone downhill. He was doing brilliantly at LB.

 

I wonder if Doughty’s head has been turned like Bonne. He’s been poor.

 

Agreed he has not been at his best , maybe as Penguin eluded to , a move back to LB may work , you can still be attacking and instrumental from that position , look at the Liverpool pair and players like Roberto Carlos.

Maybe Bowyer feels we are so lacking in attacking options he’s kind of forcing the issue and using Doughty is the easiest solution.

Another advantage would be it would relegate Purrington to the bench...!!
