The only thing I will say on Gyan is that I will not pay money to watch him play for Sunderland. If he comes back to our club I will 100% not renew my season ticket (card, whatever) At this moment I am only 75% not renewing. We (SAFC) will look like mugs and will only back up what Gyan has said: SAFC were more than happy to take the money. He will (probably) be gone and I couldn't give a hoot where too. Just spend the money on a decent replacement. (IN JANUARY)
Well, whether or not you renew your ticket is entirely your business. No one else has the right to comment on that. But it looks to me as though SAFC intend to bring Gyan back. And, with a different manager, I think Gyan will do it. I'm just looking at the club's statements and Gyan's statements - and that's what it looks like.

But the club can't really say anything else. If they are going to sell they will keep it as clean and friendly as possible in order to protect their investment of around 20million (including wages) Right, they have got 6 back leaving a big hole of 14/15 million. I'm pretty certain he will be gone. We have to replace him in January.
But Sunderland had the chance to sell in August and turned it down. We don't know how much Al-Ain offered for him, but if they were prepared to pay £6 million for a one-year loan, you can imagine what they'd have paid for a permanent deal. We could have got all our money back there and then. We didn't want it.
Yes but does Gyan really want to be there (remember the no promises crap at his press conference) or is it JUST the money. I'm betting it's Just the money. He will make his fortune in 1 year. Thats not a great sacrifice out of his life. 3 or 4 years in the soccer wilderness would be. He will move but it won't be to a p**s poor league. It will be Italy, Spain or even England. We should get 10 mill or so. A healthy amount to replace him.
I think you're right that Gyan wouldn't want to go there permanently and he's only gone for a year for the money (and who can blame him?). But from SAFC's official statement, Gyan had no say in the matter. Sunderland turned it down straight away. Once the loan came up, it was a different matter. Sunderland got £6m to loan out an unhappy player without a Bent-style permanent loss. Gyan got a year out of the club and put £10.2m in his pocket, with the option of seeing how Sunderland are next summer - I don't think he'll come and play for Bruce again. The thing works well all round if you look at it.
Gyan's comments about disorganisation, make me think I may not be far off the mark, when I said Gyan was looking pissed off with Bruce's tactics, ie lumping the ball at him and expecting him to chase it. It would be naivety in the extreme to think Bruce wasn't fully in the loop the weeks preceding Gyan's departure. To think that, would mean the upper management were undermining him!
Bent and Jones were looking less than happy with it too! I recall Shearer mentioning how chasing lost causes wears down a striker, just like when a striker makes his runs and the ball never comes. The striker stops making the runs!
Yes. Once Jones went, it got worse because it meant opposing defences could concentrate all their attentions on Bent (Gyan didn't come on stream till October). He was chasing hoof-balls with two or three defenders around him for months - and his head went down visibly. When Gyan came on stream, Bent was out for a month with injury, so Gyan got the same treatment. And, of course, once Bent left, Gyan had it all to do himself again - and his went down visibly. I don't agree with all the nastiness thrown at these two lads. I think a lot of **** was poured on their heads by silly tactics. And if we're not careful, the same will happen to Bendtner.
