Good morning everybods Some piss poor races on terrestrial TV today, but something has to win them I suppose. Here are my efforts. Nmkt 140 Gift List ew … Hills go 5 places – could be 15 and still not get a return! 210 Wondrous Words 245 Champers Elysees (tried to desert her but just can’t!) 320 Urban Artist Redcar 145 Camile ew if you must bet in this! 215 Mothassen ew 250 Brunch 325 Blind Beggar ew Good luck all
I really fancied Wondrous Words too but was declared non runner before i got chance to back it. Really like Blind Beggar at Redcar. Good luck
Yep, I like Blind Beggar but not a king's ransom worth! I replaced WW with Moonlight In Paris - there seems to be money for that one
For those who like a sporting outside chance.. 4.20 at Gowran Park Jarob 25/1 @ Bet Victor Now 13 years old , has slipped down from 135 to lowest mark of 114. Last year, was only 7 lengths behind imminent Champion Hurdle winner, Espoir D’Allen, getting only 7 lbs and 20 lbs wrong at the weights. Finished upside Cherif de L’Isle when a good fourth off 118 behind Ellie Mac in his latest race at Punchestown. Stays 3 miles OK and worth a punt.
Oh well, Dakota Gold got his rain but too much of it and the meeting is off. I wasn't going to play Mighty Gurkha because of the unknown element of the soft ground but it is such a weak looking race in terms of quality that I felt 3/1 had to be taken. He held on narrowly to land the Group 3 Sirenia at Kempton last time and his run prior to that can be ignored because the French stalls handler miscued the removal of the hood and Mighty Gurkha came out of the stalls still wearing it and lost many lengths, effectively losing the race immediately. Maybe he is weak in the betting because of the soft ground but there are so many in this field with lots to find to get involved that I think the Archie Watson horse is very much the one to beat. Fairy Dust is one of the better rated ones and potentially dangerous but comes in after a poor run last time. Her previous second in a Listed race has not worked out very well. Mighty Gurkha is in the middle of the draw in box 13 and I backed him and added Marcus Tregonning's Perotto for a forecast bet. Only 7th last time but that was a Group 2 race and he should show up better at this level back to 6F now. 1.40 Newmarket Mighty Gurkha 3/1 and SF with Perotto
I wasn't interested in The Mighty Gurkha when I first saw the 7/4 on offer but drifted out 11/4 it was worth a go. Doubled it with Cornerstone Lad also at 11/4 too
16:39 Fontwell - Fifty Ball (Twice a bumper winner in France, and not a bad run first time over hurdles in the UK LTO. Not much of a price atm, but eventual SP could be better. Maybe another Fontwell winner for the Moore family?) Best of luck today fellas!
Newmarket 210 3 stand out to me and fingers crossed it will be the latter that wins as i can only go for the awtc Be more Moonlight in paris Affable
Gutted Ascot off, most of my picks last night were there. Onwards and upwards. 1.40 Newmarket Noorban ew I’ll see where I go from there. I do fancy loads of goals in the Prem this weekend again. Most defenders can’t defend at the moment imo. (Chelsea v Palace 0-0 as I text this ) Have a good weekend fellas. All the best with yours
The drift on Mighty Gurkha told the story, way out to 9/2 and he was never at ease before weakening. The winner bolted up despite looking ungainly himself. Rated 82 coming in, he was 22 lbs behind Mighty Gurkha but the going has made it a lottery by the look of it. I'll play Champers Elysees at 3/1 as my final bet today. She has made great strides this season and has form on soft. No real reason why Peaceful should reverse the Matron form and the others all have question marks. 2.45 Newmarket Champers Elysees 3/1 to tough it out in the conditions.
A huge plunge on Camile, but she was under the pump quite early and never threatened the front two. Champers Elysees again for me, following an age old adage of following your previous winners until they lose! Find myself agreeing with Weaver a bit re the chances of Lady Bowthorpe but can't desert the Champ
How many times was Champers Elysees switched there. I thought there as a big enough gap to go through
