Is it just me or does anyone else think we are living the same day over and over again.

After scraping a 2-2 draw at home to fellow relegation candidates WBA, I listened to Bruce's after match interview and thought, hello, havent I been here before? To be quite frank, I'm bored to friggin death of listening to the man and his excuses and apologies for yet another **** up performance, or another no show and no victory at home games. He just annoys me now when he speaks. Greatly.

Words like terrible start, poor defending, gifted goals and not good enough at this level abounded. Others such as we showed a lot of balls to come back (at ****ing home to a shower of ****e not Chelsea or Man Utd) and get the draw, the players need time to gel, patience is not something you get at this level, the chairman and the fans know what were trying to do.......blah! blah! blah!

I've actually started to switch off during his interviews as they are so predictable and have that pre-written sound to them. No doubt this week we will have Eric Black doing his bit telling us all we should be ashamed of ourselves for having a go at the manager and even one or two players will be shoved out in front of the press to advise us all what a great bloke he is and how the players love playing for him.......blah! blah! blah!

I am tired of having to watch us get beat or at best draw with useless football teams at the SOL and to be honest on the road too. We are easy fodder for any team looking to kick start their season but I dont see us kick starting ours. If there were ANY positives to take out of that game yesterday it was the performance of Bendtner and maybe Larsson. Defensively we were shocking, in the midfield completely lacking in passing ability, awareness or pace ( pace is sadly lacking in all areas for me) and up front, the pairing of Sess (how many more times does Bruce have to see it not working to change it) and Bendtner isn't going to bear any fruit this season. Bendtner was a one man show at times and Sess, although good flashes in 10 min bursts, still looks lost to me playing an alien role that he cannot ever hope to succeed in.

Only the manager saw loads of good things there yesterday because not many others did and many more didn't even bother to come out and give him the benefit of the opportunity. 34,815 turned out to see Bruce's Sunderland yesterday, thats without the GNR, Sunday kick off and holidays. It was a glorious Saturday afternoon and a home game most impartial observers would have seen a win for the home side yet a very worrying crowd of only 34,815 wanted to come and watch. Given that there was about 1,200 WBA fans, that means only 33,500 SAFC fans turned up. With a capacity of 49,000 (official club stats), thats a shortfall of some 14,185 on capacity. At an average of £25 per ticket, thats a whopping £355,000 EVERY home game we are missing out on and thats not taking into account the amount of food, drinks and merchandise they may purchase while there. You could easily say its more like £380,000. Over the season thats an incredible £7.2m in lost potential revenue.

So, it would seem I am not the only one who has seen, heard and watched enough from the manager to know its all gone tits up. Unfortunately, as a season card holder, I'm going to have to suffer more of it first hand, before someone with the real balls at the club decides to act and make it better.

I wonder how much longer that will take. Defeat at Arsenal (a) probably wont unless its a cricket score? Bolton (a) could be as they are struggling too? A Darren Bent led A Villa (h) victory? Could any of us really stomach that one? 2 home wins in 12 has got to be the final straw. Surely to God.

Groundhog Day will no doubt be featuring pretty soon for us all again. Hopefully not too much longer in my case.

Got to agree with mist of this, however I was surprised by us getting a draw to be honest, I thought West Brom would have gone on to get more. Two poor teams yesterday.

I'm also baffled by how Steve Bruce is annoyed that he's getting stick, his "it's the north east" "best finish in 55 years" that he keeps trotting out although I now note he's dropped the "if you lose the derby" line. I'm all for him proving us wrong but he seems in the wrong mind set to me. He's close to throwing his toys out the cot if you ask me.

They were booed at the end of the game yesterday. We got back to 2-2 but you could see we were never going to score a winner. I'm pinning all my hopes on David Meyler.

They were a woeful team and we won't have too many better chances for 3 points. I agree about the lack of pace in midfield, hence the reason to put Sess out wide.

I changed my opinion on Bruce after Norwich and everybody i spoke to on the bus home wants rid. I think the draw has resulted in a stay of execution.

I'm stuck on this Groundhog day with you Cest. I dare bet that the most used phrase on here before the Villa game is "This is a must win game". Well how many times can that be said, 3 home games in a row. Our season has already deteriorated into a shower of s***e and a desperate survival battle. I hope its front but Bruce seems oblivious to our plight, he can't see that glaringly big ice berg right ahead that many of us can.

Any sign of one of those fans talk ins with Mr Quinn on the horizon?

    Too bloody true.

How many times did Gardner actually pass to one of his own?

He can't do it, things they teach kids.

Another eloquent post to drive away fellow Mackem's from these boards. :p

I dropped off my son and his mates in the City centre yesterday where they go pre match. (The same son who goes to EVERY home match and some away, that was slanged off by some on here, as I mentioned on here he decided not to renew his season card after the abysmal previous season.)
The banter on the way down?
Expecting a win, not to hammer WBA but positive we had enough to beat them.
He returned last night, once again disappointed with what he had seen in the SOL, in time to see us once again last on MOTD.
His only reaction to Bruce's comments?
    "Unbelievable! goodnight Dad!"

Good OP Cest, cant see why it should drive Sunderland fans away but never mind, each to their own.

I said in an earlier post I was stuck between laugh and cry yesterday and stick with Bruce, mind I think its more because I'm a stuborn old bugger than any sensible reason.

I posted a comment on here last week regarding Groundhog Day, but it was to do with the same old Bruce out, Bruce in comments that were being posted on here, rather than comments from Bruce...

I think Bruce has a point. It may be a groundhog response from him but, there again its the same old groundhog reaction from a sizeable portion of our fans.
Yes we've not enjoyed the best of years but that's to be expected from a mid table team. And that's what we are at the moment. How about chilling and let Bruce get on with the job.
Look we have no divine right to beat any team. All this constant whingeing must get to the manager and the team. Let's show our support!

Always will show my support, never boo the team or manager but as a season ticket holder I believe I/we are all entitled to our opinions. With all due respect the vast majority of sensible people can see its just not working. I am just on the Bruce in brigade, mainly cos i want him to prove me and the other knockers wrong and ram our words down our throats, but I certainly cannot chill out at the mo as I expected better.

Am I alone in being VERY insulted when people slag the fans off?

Good post cest, I'm totally in agreement.

The arrogance of the man (Bruce) slagging off the fans really annoys me.

Can't think of many other clubs where 4 wins in 20 odd games the manager wouldn't be sacked

I don't think that he slagged the fans off to be honest, he was just being truthful when he said you have got to have big balls to play in front of our crowd...Let's be honest here, at 2-0 down there was a real feeling of hate in the air, and every bad pass was being booed...It took the first goal to change the atmosphere around, and then for the rest of the first half the atmosphere was great...

But just what would you have expected the fans reactions to be at 2-0 down after 6 mins, at home, to a pile of ****e like WBA? They were rubbish but you know what, we were just as bad.

I thought the fans restraint was exemplary under those circumstances. After all, this isn't a blip now its a 9 months slump that shows no signs of getting any better. Those fans that were pissed off yesterday at 2-0 and i was definitely one of them, have seen us win 3 times at home in 2011.

If thats what you call progress and heading in the right direction, i bloody hate to see what your impression of a poor run is like?
