Spotted that Owls have -12 points situation going on. My sympahies mate, hope your lot can do better than my lot did! Edit - down to "just" minus 8 now! Well done
Played 3 - Won 1, drawn 1 and lost one. Could do with some more quick wins to get rid of the minus sign. Got stick/swanny’s lot this weekend ........
Just minus 5 after this weekend then. Slowly chipping away. Think they're still destined for league 1 though
7/4 best price currently. I would be inclined to take that on Duffle Coat. Quilixios is very short at the moment, for all the talent he may possess. Duffle Coat has had a good recent run and Scholastic came out and boosted the form somewhat during the week, whatever that's worth. I've no doubt this is a match race between the two Elliot runners and at the odds Duffle Coat should be the bet regardless of the eventual outcome.
I have been reading what the trainer has had to say about Dakota Gold this season and he feels the horse needs true soft ground to be at his best. In the early part of the season he wasn't getting his ground but he bounced back the first time he had it soft enough. He bumped into the improving Starman when he ran second next time and although he showed good early speed last time he was run out of it in the finish. Some previews have said that he was below par that day but the ground probably wasn't soft enough for him. The trainer said that Dakota Gold seems to be able to go again late in a race when he is on soft ground and now that the Ascot ground is soft I think he will be the one to beat in the Listed Rous Stakes. 1.55 Ascot Dakota Gold 9/2
Always liked Dakota Gold Grendel, and I hate deserting him but money seems to be coming for Maid In India, and I'm following it!
.....Erm, "stick/bustino/swanny's lot" would be more polite. I missed out Bustino in a recent blurb I wrote in answer to a post by Stick. Didn't realise it until some time later. However he did not tell me off. Bustino is a real gentleman! QPR seem to have a pretty average team at the moment. Need to bring in a few more talented youngsters from its excellent academy. Otherwise, it's gonna be a tough season, again! Hope it's a good game. Excuse my ignorance, Oddy, but how did Wednesday get these minus points? When I first saw the table I thought it was a typo error!
Morning 5.05 Redcar-Intrinsic Bond Each Way @ 5-1 [Bet 365] Despite top weight will be surprised if not involved at the finish
A breach of financial fair play rules. They sold their stadium (to our chairman) but they fudged the paperwork to change the date of sale so it'd look like it was done in a different financial year to try and show that they'd made a profit to fit in with the above mentioned financial fair play rules. Could have been up to 24 points so 12 isn't that bad all things considered.
Oh boy and they're going to run their festival of racing there in 2 weeks. We might see the Champion Stakes back at its rightful home.
Morning all... Done the following bets today: Newmarket 2.45pm Peaceful 7/2 win. Went very close in the French Oaks so stays further than a mile something that might be quite telling today. Should handle conditions and is likely to come forward from her last run which was after a break. I think Ryan Moore could have a good day today so have also done a sporting win double with Bolshoi Ballet in the first who could be special. Redcar 3.25pm Ey up its Maggie 33/1 each way 5 places. Wide open this contest and this one likes the mud. It won't be soft good to soft come race time. At the price worth chancing. Good luck all.
Thanks Smokey. QPR got nailed by the Football League people 40M quid for financial/transfer irregularities, due to lousy managers and a very naive owner who has since left the club. Think they might have paid it off by now (Stick would know) but it hurt the club badly.
