Sartori takes Sunderland call There was a 13-hour debate in the Uruguayan senate yesterday, as they decided against stripping former Senator Guido Manini Rios of immunity. The Senate voted 16-15 against stripping Rios of his immunity, relating to a potential prosecution regarding human rights abuses during his four-year stint as commander of the Uruguayan Army. Obviously an important debate but El Observadorpoint out that Sunderland shareholder Juan Sartori was one of the most restless senators and at one point had to step out of the proceedings to take a phone call which he explained to the newspaper were for “Sunderland things”. Although no further details were given, that could potentially be intriguing considering Sartori’s hands-off approach to his time at Sunderland
This is quite a big development. For someone that has been only been a distant figure at Sunderland. There's no way he would leave quite an important debate to take a call regarding "Sunderland things"
Nothing's happening mate, clever people keep saying that ... ... it was probably someone ringing to see if he wants a stream for Charlton
And would he leave such a debate if he wasn't one of the main men behind the developments? Absolutely not!
For some reason some of our fans are desperate for nothing to be happening. We have some really strange fans
He should have just been checking some posts on here. He would have known that nothing was happening.
Actually, you are talking complete rubbish. I have never met Smug and never will. But his initial claim that FPP were going to buy the club was completely correct as I saw with my own eyes, documents to that effect. What happened to derail it is a different matter but to suggest it was never happening is rubbish.
