    Or maybe not!!!!!!!!

Steve Bruce insists he is going nowhere after seeing his Sunderland recover from 2-0 down to draw with West Brom.

The Black Cats found themselves staring down the barrel after going 2-0 down inside the opening five minutes.

    Sky Bet Odds
Steve Bruce 7/2 to be next Premier League manager to go. Bet now
    .
It has been a difficult week for Bruce after seeing his side lose 2-1 to Norwich on Monday and then defender Titus Bramble suspended by the club after he was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and possession of a Class A drug.

However, Sunderland fought back to earn an unlikely 2-2 draw with West Brom to ease the pressure on Bruce which would have been coming had they lost to the Baggies.

Bruce accepts the pressure of the job at the Stadium of Light and has vowed to prove his doubters wrong.

    Point to prove
"Listen, it's what I do. I am a football manager and you do it," said Bruce.

"It would have been quite easy to stay at Wigan, you know, no expectation. But I wanted to come and have the challenge of this.

"It has certainly taught me a lot, but I am determined as ever to see it through and if there are any doubters, I will prove them wrong, which I have always tried to do."

Ask what his emotions were at 2-0, Bruce said: "I just thought, 'This is going to test them, and I will find out what some of them are made of', because it was the ultimate test, let's be honest, and I thought they were terrific.".

    Hhmmm, really.

Lets face it, they were nothing like terrific. We've lost to, what i believe, is the weakest team in the league in Norwich and scraped a home draw against a very, very ordinary West Brom team. During those two games witnessed the most mind-boggling managerial decisions.

The only thing I would possibly question in your statement is the weakest team thing, and Norwich. I honestly fear that that honour may belong to us at the moment, mate!

Actually, i agree with you. No joke, i was saying yesterday that we're currently the poorest team in the league. West Brom would have lost to any other team in the league yesterday. Norwich look a very, very weak team to me and West Brom not much better at all. Blackburn and Bolton have been awful but i've not seen either of them play yet. We're definitely absolute ****e.

You lot are so xxxx seriously, they were terrific yesterday, they had a nightmare start and they did brilliantly to fight back with all the pressure and negativity in the ground, they could have sank but they respindefinite and west brom never troubled us.

I'm starting to despair with our support honestly, the chants going around when we went 2-0 down were disgusting and a total embarrassment to our club, who do you think it helps? It's a miracle the players fought back with you lot acting like that and I though it was a greatt performance, they were a credit to the club.

Oh and please tell me what these mind bogglingly poor tactical decisions were yesterday. The subs brought on energy and all contributed to a good performance, you lot need to start living in the real world

Only ****ing Sky would start an article, which is a statement of intent and commitment from an under-fire manager, with...

    Sky Bet Odds
Steve Bruce 7/2 to be next Premier League manager to go. Bet now

... and people wonder why these things build and build.

That has been building for the past few home games. 2 down after 5 minutes was enough. If that's the kind of reaction that is needed to give the players and more hopefully the manager the kick up the arse they need, so be it. I have no problem with that reaction, makes them stand up and realise there's more to this club than just them. Think you'll find there were 1000's of people with the same mindset yesterday as that booing that persued after the second goal was not the 'minority'.

I love Bruce veiled attempts at insulting us and in a way potentially putting people off at the same time. There's pressure and questioned being asked about mr bruce because of our woeful relegation form since January. That doesn't matter though because Bruce guided us to 10th last season don't you know

Even Bruce can't be blind to the fact that team, with it's current form will finish nowhere near the top half. That was an awful Brom team yesterday and yes, we fought back well, but for me second half was a complete anti-climax. He's living on borrowed time at the minute and he's the only man that can turn it around.

I'm starting to think he's the safest manager in the league only behind saf. Bruce could take us down with bells on and I don't think he'll get sacked.

I agree mate Bruce cannot be blamed for two poor goals yes brown was at fault for the first and Turner was lacking in pace
bruce cannot be blamed for bramble being a complete tosser.
I am not happy with a point but i am happy with the way the players responded.
Sunderland fans in my day were not bothered about getting beat as long as they put up a fight and i saw 11 players out there wanting to play for the manager

I think its the fact he really does thinks that what we are watching is terrific, that makes me start to dislike the bloke even more on a daily basis.

To celebrate coming back from 2-0 down to a shower of ****e at home and only getting a draw is ****ing embarrassing to be honest. Thats how far this club has slid backwards under Bruce. Do you think Roy Keane would have been happy with that outcome? ****ing Mick Buxton wouldnt have never mind Keane.

And yet there are still fans who think he is doing a great job?

As for the crowds behavior when we were 2-0 down in 6 minutes, I thought they were incredible. There was a 10 minute spell when they were understandably pissed off but they got behind the lads and really played their part.

Pity it wasnt enough and far too late.

I reckon either Bruce, Coyle, or the Blackburn manager could be next to go.They bought Bruce time by the looks of it, i was sitting in the concourse and after 5 mins and cannot repeat what was said about Bruce, and supporters were coming in thinking what the hell has happend here?. Clattermole has to go in Jan and possibly Bramble , we should have kept zenden and Malbranque and why was Connor whickham signed?, Sessegnon is better on the right in midfield and we still need a left winger (Giggs?).
I heard he was going to start Connor yesterday but was injured!, i think he will not get the chance to see him play 90 mins now.

Bottom line is we should not have gone 0-2 down in the opening 5 minutes

Bruce staying definitely a good thing. Criticizing the manager and the team constantly - bad thing. How's that going to improve the situation.

And how come every team we play is the worst ever?

If you were an employer and an employee wasn't up to the job making basic mistakes constantly.
Would you not criticise said employee, or sack him for negligence?
Standing by bad employees could drag your business into bankruptcy!

We're not talking about the world of business but the game of football. I really don't think in any case its the correct analogy.
Look at it in a different way: Bruce takes the team to tenth last year. How many more millions did that make for his employer. I also think any reasonable employer, showing q duty of care, would show support to the employee, until his performance improved.
