Can't comment specifically on this game, but the one thing that Saints fans often remark on is that we are no longer bothered about falling behind. Saints usually just up their game. In the past, we've lost matches when 3.0 up, but recently we've come back from 2.0 down twice. Belief is a wonderful thing.
Not bad Garry, only blew it at the last second. However, only sad old gits like me would necessarily know about the musical 'Carousel'.
they DIDNT write it, it was a song for a musical back in the 1940's, somebody called oscar hammerstein wrote it.
Must admit in attack we were slow ponderous and clueless! H is right Gilmarten is prone to flapping and spilt a catch in some dodgy situations! Marvin looked as if he didnt want to be there! we lack pace and creativity and intelligence! as far as loanees we need a keeper a creative mid , a decent winger, and a striker on the strength of saturdays match and the forest match ,I know its still early but on what I have seen relegation is a very real prospect!
The original version was written by Hammerstein, for his musical! However, the version LFC use is a later version which got to number 1 in the UK charts. If you read the Quote it explains this!!!
They did not write the original version but they wrote the cover version that LFC use. If you watch the two videos you will find they are quite different!! I thought Frankie Goes to Hollywood wrote Ferry Across the Mersey, but maybe they just wrote their version!!!!
Re the non-penalty, I wish there was a view of that photo from another side. It's clearly JE's hand up near the ball, and it's clear that Lambert is trying to strangle Mirfin (how does he get away with that when others would be penalised just for thinking it??) - but there is also a hand apparently pushing JE in the face, backwards. A natural reaction to a backward shove is to raise your arm - how does that fit in with the 'deliberate handball' offence outlined in Law 12? All moot I suppose, as what's done is done - but so frustrating. Mind you, I wouldn't be a ref for quids - must be one the hardest and most thankless jobs around - and they don't get overnight to mull over a decision.
Got back a couple of hours ago. Found out about the result of our match while overnighting in Keyhaven, about 11.30pm yesterday. Fantastic result. We seem to put goals past opposing sides for fun, it seems. Must get round to seeing every goal. Saints at the top, and Rickie's the top goalscorer too. Mate of mine is a Spurs supporter. He ho-hummed, but was slightly impressed, I think.
