Phil Parkinson returns to the Valley.

The Mackems have made a steady if unspectacular start to the season. We have been poor, and that’s being polite. A third successive defeat in this apology of a league is going to leave the natives restless.

Let’s hope that we sign Ronnie Schwartz, and he starts up front on Saturday.

I'm sure Parky would get a good reception if fans were allowed in. It helps us that we've got no midweek games for a couple of weeks, maybe we'll get a bit more out of the new boys. Jonny Williams needs a kick up the jacksie, he was one of our best players, now ineffective. Maybe if Schwartz plays it will give the team a lift. Having no cutting edge is demoralising. Like playing great golf up to the green then missing silly putts, the rest of the game will eventually go to pieces.

Not looking forward to this one.

Hopefully we will come out of it injury free.

Sunderland fan here. We have started well. We hammered Bristol Rovers but somehow only got a point. Then six points from Oxford away and Peterborough at home was more than anyone expected. We aint playing well but in a way thats positive cause when we do we should pick up even more wins. We are rotating our forwards at the minute as he is yet to find his preferred three but the defence is outstanding. Quiet simply its the best defence in the league for me. Bailey-Wright and Willis are both easily Championship players. Hope its a good game and its a big one for you lads after back to back defeats

Went up to your place 2 seasons ago when you beat us 2-1 (last min winner).

Your two central defenders that day were just about the slowest partnership I’ve ever seen. Assume they have both been shipped out by Parky?

We play a back three of Bailey - Wright, Jordan Willis and Tom Flanagan now so all change yeah. They have looked really really good so far and as of yet we aint conceded a goal from open play

Finished here like. Parkinson wont have him anywhere near the first team. We have two good young lads in Diamond and Embleton coming through and he does not want their path to the first team blocked by McGeady

I remember being impressed by Flanagan. He had Grant in his pocket all game, even outdid him for speed. I expect he's improved now.

It's the toothless attack versus a good defence that worries me most, and I'm the eternal optimist.

Maddison signed today, but will not be fit. We are likely going to sign a full back and a centre forward tomorrow. But I doubt that they will be fit.

I see that you have signed Maddison today - Is he fit to play?
He was probably the best player in this league last season so he could make a huge difference.

Is this the team for Saturday or has anyone impressed from Wednesday's game and more likely to start?
Charlton Athletic: Amos, Purrington, Oshilaja, Famewo, Bonne, Washington, Pratley, Doughty, Oztuma, Levitt, Barker.
Subs: Maynard-Brewer, Williams, Forster-Caskey, Watson, Lapslie, Davison, Vennings.

By the way - Lee Bowyer's interview after the Lincoln game was brilliant and sums up the refereeing mess that ruins this league.
Good luck for the season - after this weekend <laugh>
