We should definitely be more like democratic socialist Sweden Not sure you’d like their generous levels of Social Care paid for by a tax system that ensures everyone contributes according to their income, though.

A. Sweden dabbled in Socialism in the 70s and 80s and it failed spectacularly as always. Sweden is not a Socialist country B. You confessed to being about 18 stone and about 5ft 10 Sweden did well to refuse the deafening screams of the Globalists and refuse to lock down but their overly generous immigration policies and welfare will destroy the country in the next few decades.
Sweden did exactly the right thing whereas the rest of the world ****ed it up and are continuing to pay for it in all ways. The Scandanavian countries are well known for looking after their people which I admire enormously.
We were told lockdown was to protect the NHS. It prevented a glut of covid patients, as well as increasing the numbers of people that will suffer and/or die as a consequence of not getting treated for other ailments. We now have much reduced numbers, no matter which metric is churned out, so there is no valid reason for the tighter restrictions.
People that drive, drink and smoke have kept this country going for decades in taxes. If everyone stopped all of these this country would be a shambles, income tax, corporation tax and all your stealth taxes would go up even more after this so called pandemic.
