It's the same post every time. All of the right words ... ... but not necessarily in the right order.
As discussed yesterday, we are due an update around now from NB about this (I listened for 10 mins last night after 6 and I dont think he was on)...now on que at the same time Storey comes out with this video - looking through the locals this morning (the echo / chronicle) there is nothing about it but I would expect some articles to come out this morning as surely there should be local journalists on this - Nick Barnes should be the first one to get some comment out of Storey. Thing is, the video is nothing new from what he said last time he was interviewed - there is absolute 0 substance to anything he is saying, I just think its some bizarre self promotion using the clubs name which I just cant work out
He is a fantasist who is trying to generate free publicity for his drink which everyone knows is hardly available anywhere. Made Haas F1 look like fools and anyone else who takes him seriously is also a fool. He has no money, a small prototype batch of a nonsense energy drink (which he copied the logo for from some bike company and is in a legal battle) and probably some form of mental illness. A chancer to end all chancers.
Got goosebumps watching that. **** why can’t our club just sort itself out and get a bit of optimism back ????!
I was in the North stand right behind the goal. We looked for offside before we celebrated. It was wild. Even funnier was watching Ji's face when that SAFC fan stuck the lips on him
But the publicity he is generating is literally just amongst sunderland fans on social media. His twitter posts get a couple of hundred comments. If it was around a premier league club he would get thousands of responses then I could understand his actions.
Nowt to apologise for marra. My own pitiful attempt at humour was to suggest you wouldn't want a close up view as that means you'd have to be close to the Mitten of Doom. And no-one would want that.
Or he's being used by someone to try and create a bidding war. This would point the finger towards the current owners.
This is the puzzle for me Bob. SAFC is a terrible choice to align yourself with. We're into our 3rd L1 season, playing dreary football behind closed doors and getting no national coverage. I just don't understand what he's trying to achieve and don't believe the speculation about creating a bidding war or whatever. FPP wouldn't buy that shyte for a second and no one else will risk £1m on due diligence, lawyers, etc based on that interview. WTF?
That last interview did him much more harm than good! For a start he was obviously mates with the interviewer, you couldn't get more scripted than those questions! I mean "you've got an energy drink that's taking the world by storm" or something along those lines was part of one of the questions, haway man! And then Storey coming out with "people laughed when I said Rich Energy would be bigger than Monster and Red Bull". Mate, that's the kind of triumphant **** you come out with when you've actually done it! Currently people would still laugh if you said it, you can't even buy your drinks in a shop! Then the Covid rant. He came across as an absolute fantasist, a lunatic and no serious business people would give him a second thought if they were in the process of trying to buy the club!
I think the only conclusion rational people are able to come to is that this is an act, being played out by someone for his own amusement. It appears Storey's history,in business circles at any rate,is one of embellishment of the truth with regard to his success level.... a dreamer and a fantasist. In my opinion,if there was the slightest element of truth in his serious ability to acquire our club, there would be none of this madcap behaviour. I think he's latched onto something where he thinks he can have a bit of fun, playing the role of a would be buyer, and I'm not giving the slightest bit of credence to anything he says.In fact,if no-one took any notice and stopped putting up his various tweets and ramblings,he wouldn't have an audience to play to.
I honestly think it’s his m8 Steve Wraith putting him up to it. Trying to wind us Sunderland supporters up.
You may be right mate. I think he's having a laugh at our expense in trying to further muddy the waters of what already is a rather muddied affair.
Cant be any other reason for it. Like everyone has been saying. He isn’t getting massive publicity. Apart from the Sunderland forums. Wraith will claim a victory, saying he had all Sunderland fans panicking, Thinking the bearded one was buying us
