I hate to say it, but, I have spent a bit of time in Luton. I was born in Welwyn Village, raised in HH and then my parents got divorced re married ETC. I have lived in a lot of places. I am so happy we have beaten them lot today, my old man would have been made up. He took me to every game possible. Ivic has a bit of tiempo ahorita.
I studied engineering at LU. One of their "top boys" was on the same course... it was an interesting time. We actually discussed what might happen on a particular Saturday afternoon. Twenty years ago now, not seen him since.
HA HA. means in my castellinglish that the manager has nicked a bit more time, old news. Sometimes things don't translate but never mind.
https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/18751214.watford-players-rated-luton-town-victory/ Great ratings.. which relfect the result and the way we played... BUT.. Kabasele almost gifted them a goal with that poor clearance We need to increase our shooting..as we deserved to win be several goals...and one mistake and we almost gave it away....Thankfully Championship Strikers cant shoot on target ....
Assume you're including WFC players in the last bit.No evidence so far that Calculators are going to be needed this season to count the goals. There are some uncharitable ,blinkereds on here, the Lads In Red hit the crossbar ,thats more than Watford did-so surely it should have been a draw ??
Their only shot on goal - guess you need some luck but overall we were the better team and deserved to win. BTW they played in orange althoght might have looked red.
It was on the BBC coverage of the cycling. He was interviewed in his car on the way home from training.
Ben Foster on Twitter: Oh my wow just seen the penalty from the Spurs game earlier on, I can honestly say I don’t miss VAR one bit in the champo, if that’s what going on in the Prem,, then in the words of @wjhughes19 .... The games gone.
Just watched the highlights again! What do you think? Was Pedro's goal heading wide before the deflection off their captain? I have watched it a few times and still can't make my mind up. Either way, great he got off the mark!
For the more earnest amongst you,my earlier comments were supposed to be light hearted Profuse apologies for the kit colour error,on my Made In China Don Trump (now that IS Orange) radio it was red. Will never understand local rivalry - especially when it isnt i.e hardly local when Watford and Luton are many miles apart and not even in the same County Waste of energy if you ask me,rivalry for the sake of it . At least the meeting on Saturday meant that those who need to know how another teams getting on when the two hadnt even been in the same division for years could just concentrate on one game.
I think the rivalry is more on their side Nick. We are their nearest rivals but we also may have rivalries against some London clubs - QPR and Brentford are closer to us than Luton is - I think actually that (as the bird flies) Tottenham may be the closest big club to us. But we are closer to each other than Ipswich and Norwich who also have a bitter rivalry.
I think that many of us can remember horrid trips to Luton in the past - and we know that they hate us and so we return the favour. Luton fans also have a dreadfull relationship to QPR. Actually when it comes to teams I like seeing lose then Chelsea are the top of the list followed by Man City (not for historical reasons but for their financial cheating) I'm not worried about Luton against other clubs. Rivalries can be strange things - I think most Liverpool fans support Everton against non Merseyside teams so I'd describe that as a healthy rivalry.
