Their revenues have actually only decreased in Euro terms cos the pound is so **** at the moment. They've stayed roughly stable in pound terms. They lost out on quite a lot of revenue last term cos they went out of the CL so early. They've also been using Abramovich to subsidise their ticket prices, so haven't seen the same sort of growth in matchday revenue that Arsenal and Utd have over the same period. I've never actually seen it said by anyone - the ã100 million you got over 15 years was held up as the biggest ever football naming rights deal at the time. The problem I think you'll have now is that everyone thinks of it as "The Emirates". So you'll struggle to attract new potential sponsors to push the price up when the current deal expires (in 2021, not 2014 as I said before - that's the shirt deal). 150 million Euros over 5 years from the Qatar Foundation. That's about ã25 million a year. At the moment everything that club touches seems to turn to gold...
You could be right, but given that the Emirates naming rights are earning more per year than the Allianz Arena, the FedEx field and the Phillips Arena in Atlanta, I'm not sure you could ask for that much more. But I guess we'll find out in 2021!
Part of Chelsea's downfall is their season ticket prices. Their matchday revenue compared to other teams is awful.
Nobody mentioned that Barca and Real have SEPERATE TV right's deal's to everyone else in their country? This gives them a massive advantage over us. Let's face it if united could do the same, we'd be on every week and our TV rights would at least double everyone elses. Thankfully the FA have a brain and prevent this happening, otherwise we'd be as poor a league as La Liga and a 2 horse race (Well one really).
Carling cup games are practically a giveaway at Chelsea, i know i've sat in the away end many a time. United's revenue can massively expand, we haven't had to scrape the barrell like Arsenal and ask the fan's to pay ridiculous ticket prices with very little in return.
Barcelona and Real Madrid are the 2 richest because they sell their own TV rights. If Man Utd did the same they would be the richest by MILES.
Lol, well most of Highbury is already sold now - you made around ã150 million on that this year. But that doesn't figure in the money league cos it's not football income. I thought all that cash was being used to clear the stadium debt? Not quite. Real only make 30 million Euros more than Utd on broadcast revenue, but 50 million Euros more on commercial revenue. The commercial revenue makes a much bigger difference for them, and has kept them way ahead of all the rest for the last six years. But if we could sell our UK TV rights separately we'd probably be on a par with Barca.
Bayern Munich is ahead of Arsenal just because they reach Champions league finals. Hopefully Arsenal will overtake them this season.

Oh yeah, I remember. Don't know the Emirates all that well, but I've heard a bit about that stage of the development. Is it expected to bring in much money? I thought there was a big outcry from local residents which forced them to scale down the size of the development and make it mostly focus on affordable homes? Isn't the main benefit to Arsenal supposed to be better coach parking facilities for the stadium and a big sports centre for the club to use?
