Now that is a classic song and one that I’ve heard played live. One of the greatest bands on the planet.
Unfortunately before my time. I’ve been trying to see them live since 1985 when I was 19. Unfortunately every time they were on tour I was also on a different kind of tour courtesy of the army. I eventually got to see a band called The Who, which consisted of Pete Townsend and Roger Daltrey in 2009 at the NIB Stadium in Perth at the grand old age of 43. They were still a great live act but not a patch on what they would’ve been like when Entwistle and Moon were there.
In all truth I never really liked them, but saw the original line up twice once at the Bay where the bought everybody at the bar a drink and mixed with the crowd before going on, Country Joe style. The Bay was the place to be in those days, shame you missed it, saw little of the act that night, the second time I saw them was at the Locarno in Sunderland, where there was a better view of the stage and they were tremendous the energy on stage and Kieth Moons drumming were standout and even I had to admit they were bloody good.
