Good Morning. It's Monday 28th September, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road Bamford to the rescue again Leeds won the bragging rights as being the best team in Yorkshire courtesy of an 88th minute header, by rejuvenated Patrick Bamford. It looked like the war of the White Rose would end in stalemate having seen both Meslier and his counterpart Ramsdale pull off save after save. The 27yo became the first player since Mick Jones in the 1968-69 season to score in Leeds first three opening matches in a top-flight season. Bielsa's put faith in the same starting line up that had gained promotion from the Championship back in July; Koch being the exception, having only signed for Leeds earlier this month. The German International defender had a far more accomplished and solid performance; recording three clearances, six aerials won, one interception and a blocked shot. He and Cooper marshalled the defence well. It will be interesting to see where new signing Diego Llorente fits in. The only disappointing performance came from Tyler Roberts. Are his days numbered at Elland Road or should he be sent out on loan? People tend to forget, the Welsh International is only 21, 18 months older than Ryan Edmonson! After the Blades win, Leeds have risen to 6th in the Premiership (joint 4th without GD). It is believed that that Leeds have offered £18.2m for the versatile midfielder who can play central, defensive or attacking midfielder! This morning, Leeds Utd journalist Phil Hay posted an update on twitter saying the report was 'accurate' and that 'talks have taken place and all sides are open to the possibility of a deal'. please log in to view this image Hay - Dan James would be open to a move to Elland Road Amid media reports stating Manchester Utd winger Daniel James wanting to stay at Old Trafford and fight for his place, Leeds journalist Phil Hay disclosed that the 22yo would be open to a move to Elland Road. 'It's not a secret that Leeds are keen. There was no mention of his fitness yesterday but clearly he didn't make the 18 and our understanding is that he'd be open to a move to Leeds. He's had a hard time at Old Trafford and it's hard to say where exactly he fits under Solskjaer. One to watch'. It's also been revealed that Brighton have joined the race for the Welsh International. please log in to view this image
Good morning. Six early points takes the pressure off us a bit. With Wolves and City coming up next you wouldn't ordinarily expect much from those games but neither have got in their stride yet so who knows. If the De Paul saga is over then Cuisance would be the next signing I would most want but how do we get all of these midfielders/wingers into the side? Could Cuisance replace Roberts? But then where does Rodrigo fit in? And then when Hernandez gets back? These are nice problems to have. We might actually have some decent options from the bench which I feel we have lacked before.
Morning all, A good win against a well organised team. Wilder talking out of his arse claiming he thought his team were the better team. We beat them in every statistic including the most important one- goals. There were a lot of excellent performances but special mention must go to Meslier, Harrison &Dallas for me. Not sure i need to go into detail as to why. Tyler Roberts. He got a lot of grief on twitter for his performance. I can't disagree that he seemed pretty anonymous before his substitution. But just to mitigate a little we didn't seem to be playing through the middle in the first half. Everything was going wide to Harrison & Costa. This makes it harder for the man in the middle to get involved. This changed when Rodrigo came on and we seemed to play the ball to him more. He looked very good this week.
Morning all Wilder classless Bielsa classy Dan James, ok if Bielsa wants him Cuisance is a top talent and major coup if we can pull it off. He is tipped to be a worldy but seems to have fallen out with Hansi Flik. Brilliant win yesterday and I expect the blunts to take points off bottom clubs so a 6 pointer that. Roberts..... people know my views and just saying hes only 21 is pointless as we look to sign a 21 year old who will play a big part
I would be very happy with the Cantwell transfer if it happened. Was a very good player in the Premier league last season and would be a great addition to the squad at a good price. Cantwell for 15 million is better than 32 million for De Paul.
Tommo Pablo hasnt started the season well even before his injury and think he will be a supersub this season only. We are crying out for some control and creation but Roberts gives us nothing. Rodrigo seems to see Bielsaball now after a couple of weeks but hes mainly a front 3 guy waiting for his chance up top. He now seems to be champing at the bit to get onto the score sheet
Yesterday I posted on the match blog that I thought Wilder was a deluded twat......after listening to his interview in its entirety I have to confess that he definitely is a fkg stupid deluded BITTER twat, he thought he was smart last year in buying and bringing very little and poor Assets to there club, well it’s biting him in the arse, which reminds me!! during his interview he kept screwing his face up!!!! was someone working something up his rectum besides us what we had done to them over the last 90 odd minutes what a toss pot.
Wakey you must get a message to him not to go in the changing room and start gobbing off like a certain turnip head did.
I agree about Pablo. Assuming Rodrigo will start over Roberts soon who do you see Cuisance replacing? Either way we'll have some quality on the bench.
Roberts i forgot was on the pitch first half hour. He does not get the attention of team mates by asking for the ball. He needs to get involved more but he is not ready. Really he is still a young unlike players like rooney and bremner who were men at 17 years old.
Wow what a signing Cuissance would be I'd take any of the Bayern main squad in a heartbeat Best team in Europe by far imo!
I thought Roberts looked uninterested and at one point of the match he didn't break his bollocks to get the ball which he thought was running out.Rolling out his age as an excuse doesn't work for me. I mean he's an International ffs.
Tommo if Ciusance comes he will be a starter with Pablo on the bench, once he has Bielsaball. I think Rodrigo will be waiting his chance to take over the main striker role from Bamford. I think we will see plenty of rotation between both strikers if one doesnt score
Morning all. Getting points on the board early are vital, very hard playing catch-up in this division. Rodrigo looks like he'll be a real asset to the team, Bielsa said afterwards that he made a mistake taking him off, (Bamford looked wrecked) and I'm sure he cleared the air with Rodrigo. I hope we get Cantwell, he looked good anytime I saw him last season. Onwards and upwards, both City and Wolves got drubbed yesterday!
Imagine taking James off Manure with Bielsa making him a world beater please log in to view this image Maybe if Brighton are relegated Ben White will return to Leeds to bolster up our squad What goes around comes around please log in to view this image
At least the city game should be an open affair because I knew it was going to be a hard slog against the Blades.
Rather than blame the players maybe Farke should blame the clubs greedy owners as they still have 3 quality players trying to get out but the club want zillions for them
Morning all. Thought Rodrigo did well when he came on. Some great touches and he has really good spacial awareness. First 10 mins of the second half our players weren't passing it into him when he found the pockets of space but then started to realise and gave him the ball, he then laid it off or made a good pass to spread the play. He'll only get better as he gets used to his new team mates and looked a step up in class on what we've seen from Roberts or anyone else in those tight areas. Only downside was a lack of understanding with Bamford but if that interplay develops they could be real handful, especially if we can somehow get that 3rd creative player on the pitch at the same time. Not sure how that would work as logically would mean Klich, Harrison or Costa making way but we have the genius who is Bielsa to fathom something out....maybe a back three ????
