I love reggae music. Seen the Wailers a few times, first one just after Bob died. Black Uhuru, the Abyssinians, Culture (twice), U Roy, Misty in Roots. UB40 about ten times, but they can go and **** off for me now, deprived many people who liked them through their petty squabbles. I’m in touch with The Gladiators, they’ve been going since the 70’s, and a reggae promoter in Newcastle to get something sorted in Newcastle when it’s safe.
Love SKA like, big Madness fan as well. Especially fond of the sun and the rain, my name is Michael Caine, grey day and bed and breakfast man, just to name a few.
Love Dis man saw the two tone show at the Mayfair, in 79, Specials Madness The Beat and Pauline Black, good show but no substitute for the real thing Jimmy Cliff at GOGO,s. in the early 70,s the young Set still the most atmospheric wild crazy reaction from an audience I have ever witnessed anywhere, including the Beatles at the Empire in the 60's.
Got a few Lee Perry albums, my hey day with reggae was Max Romeo, Dillinger, and Trinity, first got into it in 1962 in Port Antonio Jamaica, then along came Bob of course. Love the Dualers on your thread by the way great talent, and the Jackie Wilson covers are something else again, JW was another favourite of mine back in the day, all of this music has to same roots, no place for hate, only taste.
