Morning all. Grey, blowy and much cooler. It feels as though Autumn has really arrived. We took a short trip out yesterday afternoon as there were a few bits and pieces we hadn't found locally, so took the scenic route to a town about 25 kms away. The bracken in the forests has turned golden, and many of the trees are starting to lose their Summer green. Some of the trees have not survived the two years of hot and dry weather and have fallen over. I have several like that, so must get the chain saw fired up before logs are needed for the fire. Have a good day whatever you are doing. <ok>

Morning all. Sunshine and showers seem to be the order of the day. Today is my Wedding Anniversary, remembered, Phew! Had to give the away day on the fans coach to Reading a miss that day, but it was maybe a good thing. Despite a goal apiece from Ron Saunders and Ron Spelman we lost 6-2. I didn't know the result for a fortnight. If you can put those facts together you will know when it was. Have a good day one and all. <ok>

Didn't get to that match - or the Cup defeat shortly after it - but did see us get revenge with a 5-1 win a couple of months later. Although 'see' may be the wrong word - I'm sure the match was played in thick fog and anything beyond the penalty area was shrouded in mystery.

Congratulations to you and Mme... <bubbly>

I can remember the win in the fog against Reading BB - when the goals went in at the Vicarage Road End the celebration on the Rookery was a very delayed reaction !

Morning all. Very gloomy and damp outside, so no gardening today. One of the two gardening centres in town has closed after the storm back in Spring removed the roof, and took out some of the greenhouse glass. Great shame as they had lots of plants at reasonable prices. As you drive pass the closed gates you see just how quickly nature reclaims an area that was cultivated. Hope you all feel happy today after the win, and enjoy your day. <ok>

Disaster movie night on the telly apparently: The Day After Tomorrow, Deep Impact, Volcano...
Watched Guy Ritchie's The Gentlemen earlier: apart from the overly liberal use of the c word it is a cracking film! Great story, brilliantly cast, several laugh out loud moments - especially Michelle Dockery and Hugh Grant both in proper comic form. If you can take the profanities then it's well worth the watch.

Morning all. Overcast but dry here at the moment. It was very chilly last night, but forecast to warm up as the week goes by. One of my granddaughters has to go to hospital tomorrow to have a tooth removed as the dentist cannot do it and it is required to allow the braces she has on her teeth to be working properly. This meant that she had to get a Covid test yesterday and the result today before they will allow her into the hospital tomorrow. All very straight forward we hope, and having been to the same hospital feel sure that they will treat her well. Have a good day whatever you must do. <ok>

Morning all. An early start to the day as Mme had to go for her six monthly blood test at the lab in town. Nothing to eat or drink since 10.00 pm yesterday, so after they had done their worst we head to a little bar for coffee and freshly baked pastries. The results from the test will arrive by post here tomorrow and also at the doctors, so then later this week a trip to see her for another half hour going over. They do like to be thorough here. Have a good day whatever you are doing. <ok>

Morning all. Sunshine and cloud here this morning, but a comfortable temperature to be out and about. Granddaughter was pampered at the hospital yesterday and was very chirpy when she arrived home. I have been sent an invitation by the government to have a flu jab. They want us oldies to have them this year more than ever so if we do fall ill they can say it is not that. I haven't had one for many years believing that as the strain changes each year you are being protected against what was around last year. Maybe this year I will get one, but hope I don't get the flu, something that I haven't had since I left England. I will think about it! Have a good day whatever is in store for you. <ok>

Morning all. Wet outside this morning and looks as though it will stay that way throughout the day. Mme just telephoned the surgery for an appointment now she has received the results of her blood test and was asked if she would like to pop along this afternoon or tomorrow morning. Much prefer the afternoons as mornings can get you out of bed far too early. I have now been given a new inside job of putting up some additional shelving in a store cupboard. I can only think that there is too much in there already rather than adding to it. Still I will get the tape measure out, compare costs from different DIY outlets, and then take a trip out before the weekend to obtain the materials. Have a good day whatever you are doing. <ok>
