According to this article the suspect was handcuffed behind his back, how the hell did he manage to shoot someone like that!... https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2020/sep/25/suspect-croydon-police-shooting-known-prevent-scheme
Really weird situation this, from a legal point is carrying ammunition a criminal offence that gets you arrested? If the two (i would think minimum to do a SAS) officers found ammunition did they not think to search further and see what it was meant for? Tragic occurrence but i can't help feeling that somewhere there are a couple of coppers who feel guilty about this for not actually carrying out the SAS thoroughly.
Carrying ammunition can get you years in prison so definitely an arrestable offence. Agree about the lack of search though. I know that they often don't do a proper search til at the station after arrest, but you'd think that after finding the ammo they'd do a larger search.
Any video of this action....... Pretty fking impressive so a must see in data world.... Surely someone filmed it on thy phone.
The problem the police have... I saw youtube footage some weeks back, I think it was shown on here, they were searching a young black lad (everyone looks young to me), several coppers were in attendance, and they were getting an almighty load of mouth off a woman, watching the cops search this lad. The womans comments went along the lines of what you searching him for, blah, blah, blah (we all know the drill by now). Cops pull out a big fook off knife from the lad.........obviously it was planted on the young lad, by the cops searching him (said tongue in cheek). So now back to your ammunition arrest, repeat above. It creates apprehension and to a certain degree intimidation of coppers trying to their job. Obviously we don't know what happened yet, it is merely a scenario to answer your question, one that has already been played out in questioning by media to senior officers. They are damned if they do and damned if they don't, the life of being a copper, trying to protect the public.
I think many do already in truth. If they have their full gear on many forces use the chest camera as standard issue, probably only when out in the field though, would be odd to have it recording when in the station.
So i listening on the radio and the reason is police (head of some police thingy) aren't allowed to strip search until they are brought back to the police station, only a pat down. Presumably the gun was concealed in an untouchable position.
oh yeah, that's right, I heard that yesterday, you just reminded me. So basically there is potential to be able to hide something, although how you get a gun up your arse is beyond me
I'm pretty sure when you get patted down they aren't allowed to start fondling your balls and bum hole
How big is his arse if he can hide a pistol between his butt cheeks without it standing out, like, well, a pistol in his kecks?
Damn surely the law must be changed so a full naked fisting can be made legal on grounds of terrorism.........the under 16 will be taken to the Royal family for private searches
