Footage of skiffle bands? Where? Apart from Lonnie Donegan and Chas McDevitt most of it was crap, but great fun and I loved it. And The Quarrymen of course.

One of my all-time favourite guitarists is Chet Atkins, who does a beautiful version of Mr Sandman, the Hoagy Carmichael classic.

Also a lovely man with no ego, who started Tommy Emmanuel off, and was the first to pay tribute when Tommy overtook him. Love his duets with Mark Knopfler.

Under-rated as a guitarist because he doesn't shred, and if the song only requires C, G and F that's what he'll play.
Jacko knows his way round a guitar btw.

So Thomas and Jacko lead and rhythm guitar, me on keys, and the missus on vocals. Just need a drummer, bass player and a name for the band.

<laugh> ... now, if only I could think of a drummer who supports Charlton? perhaps you could ask around North Block? <whistle>

Jacko's not a bad singer, could do backing vocals.

Will need backing vocals for the song, I think it sounds crap doing your own backing...screws you for live performances.

Can he play more than one drum is the pertinent question.

Played many years as a semi-pro drummer - photos and videos available, including one TV performance ...

But every guitarist can play base...it's just one note at a time, plus the bassist get the groupies (low frequencies raise womens testosterone levels) eg: V8's, low manly voices...Koss even designed a very bassey headphones for women, it sold well. Yep, you've just started practising.

A friend of mine, Dave the Bass, whom AHLL has met, only took up the bass age about 50, neverplayed an instrument before, and at the time of lockdown was playing in 3 bands. Guitarists don't want to play bass.

You can learn at any age, I started piano 2 years ago, 1 year seriously, and I'm about grade 6 now, though I make up for technique with emotional timing, so even simple stuff can sound good.
