The penalty was as clear as day. But how on earth have Brighton lost that? They deserved to win by two or three.
Brighton should really have won this match but that crying celebration came back to bite Maupay as he left the pitch in tears.
Potter is with a refreshing and calm interview considering he must be very frustrated after that. Brighton look good. Should be a comfortable mid table finish for them based on that.
They were worryingly good - and have been since the season. I'd already accepted that Everton would jump ahead of us this season, and prepared for the possibility of Newcastle, Villa and/or Leeds doing likewise. But maybe I need to Brighton to that too. (On the flip side, Burnley and Sheff Utd have to be two sides who we should be looking to jump ahead us. Which makes this evening quire important.)
Penalty was the correct decision, Maupay was an idiot for leading in with his arm. But I can’t ever remember a full time being reversed before, typically if that was a non top 6 club you would imagine a ‘sorry can’t change it after we have blown the whistle’ type response. You make your own luck though.
Sheff Utd have been my outside pick for relegation. Think they will have the season most predicted for them last year. We’ll be about 15th or so I would say
That finish from DCL was no better than Adams' or Ings'. All three were basically straight at the Palace keeper. But today, he lets it go through him.
