That is very good of you to say Sandman. I owe you an apology for some of the things I posted when you first joined this forum, and one or two things since then. I'm sorry we got off on the wrong foot. I hope we can get along.
Mate, I didn't even notice...yesterdays chip paper. CAFC have a future, we can argue and fall out everyday, as long as we wipe the slate clean every night. The takeover has not cheered everyone as I see Ivor has mentioned us, as in low member numbers...let's do quality and really piss him off.
Just to remind our latest member, current total 13.4 @The Pub Landlord, Saturday morning finds our members in high spirits. @dick plumb our man ITK is pleased that he has a new lease of life after saying to the apologists. @Clb74 is having a nice breakfast preparing to visit Primark for some new winter shorts. @Smudger603 is off to Holland and Barrett to buy some new soap. @AllHellLetLoose is getting ready to take his Pug for a walk. @Appalling Rug at present is crying over his breakfast after seeing the minus figure on his Coral's online account. Me? I'm just happy to still be alive, thinking of my friends on here
@The mighty Elfsborg A new comedy low point over on Into the Asylum last night, with the Welsh Wazzock determined to slag off every new signing with wildly untrue “facts” before they had even signed on the dotted line for us. Hilariously for such a proud Cardiff fan, he was totally blindsided that his club had signed Dillon Phillips from his adopted club He’s tried to cover his tracks this morning by claiming that he actually knew Dillon was training with Cardiff since last week one of his imaginary Cardiff contacts told him.
I really don't understand the slagging off of players that sign for us. The salary cap has been a major problem for Bowyer and Gallen. Let us just give the new players a chance. I have to say I have been very disappointed by Dillon Phillips deciding he doesn't want to sign a new contract with us. He has been at Charlton since he was ten, I suppose loyalty is a one way street. Good luck at Cardiff playing second fiddle to Alex Smithies. Nathan Harness is an excellent goalkeeper as is Ashley Maynard -Brewer, we are well served in that department.
@dick plumb The best we could have asked for in this fortnight under the current salary cap constraints was a complete rebuild. We got it. 11 players in, 4 players out. Of the ones that left - two didn’t want to be here, Bonne & Phillips, and two were not good enough, Oztumer & Lapslie. Bowyer now has far more options and the more average players like Purrington, Oshilaja & Forster-Caskey will now become squad players at best. I would say it’s been an excellent transfer fortnight given the circumstances. The team that played v Lincoln & Doncaster was taking us down.
Salary caps plus you do not normally get world cup appearance makers playing at this level. However, to be fair to Ivor, his chief wum Charles Hawtrey keeps reminding us we are the "45th biggest club in the country". I kid you not
What disappointed me about the Lincoln & Donny games was ... 1) How fragile our defence was 2) Despite some good build up play, how pathetic our attack was What disappointed me about the Sunderland game was ... 1) How Bow was forced into negative tactics from the start because of deficiencies in the squad so being unable to select an attacking formation. On the plus side from those three games was the form of Amos.
