Just like to add - Hooiveld MOTM. Sign him up Adkins! He always shows a lot of passion to the crowd at the end of the match etc, he seems like a top bloke who loves it here.
Davis - 7 Richardson - 8 - Brilliant getting forward and defended very well Fonte - 6 Hooiveld - 7 Fox - 7 - Much better performance Guly - 8 - My MOTM. He was everywhere today. Very casual and skilful player. Hammond - 6 Cork - 7 Lallana - 8 Lambert - 8 De Ridder - 7 Chaplow - 8 Schneiderlin - 6 Holmes - 7
Couldn't agree more with your assessment of Guly's performance. How others are giving him 6s and others 8/9s I can't possibly imagine. His positional sense has come on so much. He gives us the unpredictability and flashes of brilliance that every team pushing for the top really needs.
Funny how we all see it differently?? But that's football and fans I guess......over the 90mins Cork was my MOTM
Everyone was a 10 except Davis, Fox and Guly who were absolute pants and not fit to wear the shirt!....
Davis - 7 Richardson - 7 Fonte - 6 Hooiveld - 7 Fox - 8 De Ridder - 6 Hammond - 7 Cork - 7 Lallana - 8 Guly - 9 Lambert - 9 Chaplow - 8 Schneiderlin - 6 Holmes - 7 Guly just edges MOTM for me. He was superb today!
Well, I can only assume some you are really difficult to please. Maybe if the lads had worn their underwear on the outside? Leaving aside the first 20 minutes, that was one of the best performances I have seen in quite a while. Guly should be a 9.5 and nobody less than an 8. Or maybe I was supposed to compare the lads to Barcelona?
As others have said it is quite astonishing how some have assessed a players contribution on the field of play. Judging by some of the marking I get the feeling that some do not understand the finer points of the game too much. The first 20 minutes aside there was some outstanding contributions from then on. The team got into a better rhythm as the game wore on. From the 63 rd minute on we seemed to mainly play deep for a while, defending what we had. They made the mistake I think, of thinking we were finished. Left big gaps through trying to get into the game and did we ever capitalise? Guly's goal was sheer class, talk about nerves of steel. Cool or what, how many can put their foot on the ball in the middle of a crowded penalty area, then calmly almost nonchalantly, stick it into the corner? They had a lot of pace to contend with. The first half they did well, as they tired, so the gaps opened. They certainly could not handle the substitutions we made thats for sure. In the end I did not think the score line flattered us I think Watford were lucky not to have conceded more. The first penalty I am not sure what he gave it for........there was no doubt that Lambert was being pulled about all game in the penalty area. Ok you can argue that it was/wasn't a penalty till the cows come home. There cannot be an argument about any of the others that is for sure.....Remember we rattled the post 3 times as well (don't forget Ricky's thunderbolt towards the end) Watford were well and truly beaten......and as others have suggested....the bogey laid well to rest.
I get so peed off with the unknowledgable ratings from some people. The original poster has given Fox a bloody 6!!! FFS Its just ridiculous. He gave a couple if passes away and got put in the ****e by lambert late on when Davis made a great save. Apartfrom that he as great today. Overall team were a little slow out the blocks, but second half was champagne stuff at times.
sorry but this is my opinion, this is how I viewed the game and everyone sees it differently so just respect other peoples views yeah?
