Don't think I want Leicester picking up three points...they're too dangerous. A nice 0-0 draw with two red cards apiece would suit me fine.
Brighton lose again. We tried to politely tell them last season that the best team was second, but would they listen
Great win for saints, and glad to see holmes score. Both the pre and post match interviews by adkins show what a class manager he is.
really pleased to see (or hear!) holmes score - sounded like a good strike. Great 2nd half performance from the Saints.
A bit of a cushion at the top might be good. I know I shouldn't be wishing Leicester to do too well, but they'll still be 6 points behind us if they win today. Oh, and Pompey are 3 points off the bottom.
Just got back, and that was fantastic! The first 20 minutes was a bit frustrating as every time Kelvin punted it upfield it seemed to come back with interest, and we were under some pressure. The goal helped to settle everyone down and Lallana shot off the woodwork would have in with a shout for "goal of the season" had it gone in! The second half I think they just couldn't get the ball from us. There was much more space and time for our creative players, and a special mention for Guly. His goal was coolness epitomised, and just before that he almost set up another by flicking the ball over defenders head into the box. By the time Holmes got the 4th it just felt like a celebration. 15 consecutive home victories. Someone pinch me!
Hope all the positivity is back guys!!!! Fantastic 2nd half performance, 4-0 and another 3 points and by the way WE ARE SOUTHAMPTON, WE'RE TOP OF THE LEAGUE Laboured at times 1st half but hey its not always gonna be easy. Followed Saints for more years than I care to remember and at the moment we all have a football club and a team we can all be proud of!!!
It never left.......... Seriously though , well pleased . Glad we settled down after a tricky start. Now just to make sure we don't lost at home against the Hammers , as my Manager and team leader are both Hammers fans and will be there on the 18th , IF they win they will be unbearable.......... I know there is a game before that , but the hammers game is thenext one I am going to .
Actually not too surprised by the result. I thought we would win 3-0 and plased we went one better. I felt Watford were by far the better side in the first 20 mins and should have been 2-0 before we got the first penalty. We just seemed to invite them to come on. Dyche is arguing that the first penalty was not a hand-ball abd must admit from the Chapel end the cry went up from the crowd a good couple of seconds before the ref pointed to the spot. All in all, the second half performance was fantastic. Lallana, Cork and and Hammond form a fabulous midfield partnership and i felt the whole team worked hard today. Guly's goal was absolute class and had a very casual air about it that was typically Brazilian. Chaplow was unlucky not to score in what was a fantastic passing move. If that had gone in, I doubt that we would have scored a better goal all season. I am impressed how Chaplow seems to come off the bench and always make an impression. In the end it was telling that the likes of Lambert and Chaplow had massive gris on their faces whenever they went close. A very good performance.
Bolton just pulled one back against Chelsea to make it 4.1. I was feeling sorry for the Bolton fans, but didn't feel for the Watford fans. Funny that
I did notice on a couple of occasions that when Lambo went to jump for KD's long balls he seemed to nailed to the floor, possibly some subtle shirt pulling or a carefully placed arm preventing him from getting any height, but he didn't seem to complain enough about it, at first I thought the initial penalty was for holding, it was only the subsequent Gallery picture that highlighted the hand, which was not Lamberts.
