    I really hope Long has a decent game tonight and restore a bit of confidence.. Ingram for me is clearly the no.1 choice now but would love Long to get back to his confident best.

    The problem now is that players have an opportunity to get into the first team usually at the same time there's a lot of changes. That happens from League One through to internationals.
    In the 50s and 60s a new player would get their chance with 10 first team regulars playing.

    just watching sky and they do appear to be showing the goals from the games in the cup games .. just showed Newports opener against Watford

    True but a good shot stopping performance in goal would help his cause tonight .. tbf a game without any mistakes from him would be a bonus !

    I agree but his confidence evaporated and lead to many mistakes which didn't help
