    I thought your point was we were losing out, by not having to abide by EU anti- laundering measures

    Well, we'll continue to lead the world in money-laundering. I suppose it depends if you think that's a good or a bad thing. I'd say bad.

    I go back to my original point. We bring in our own regulations to curb, and hopefully, stop it

    We’ll be even freer to clamp down on it harder. If there’s one thing this government believes in it’s clamping down on fraud.

    Of course. Just as we're going to legislate to improve workers' rights, environmental protections and food standards over and above those of the EU.

    The thing is we could have done all of these things whilst in the EU - they only set minimum standards, not maximum.

    One of the main reasons for leaving is that we can undercut these standards when doing trade deals isn't it?

    To be fair Strolls, I would think there are a good few countries ahead of us on the money laundering stakes

    I think we both need to watch tonight's Panorama. I'm recording it.

    Did you look at the article I put up ? Just seems the EU wants to pick and choose where they throw their accusations.

    These aren't EU accusations, though. I'll get back to you once I've seen the programme.

    Nope, to the last point. In fact we can do a lot better than the EU on stuff like animal welfare

    As I said, there was never anything stopping us improving on EU standards.

    Forgetting for a moment the state aid issue, do you think we should agree to the LPF?

    @simondolan

    The Victorian Govt this week considering a bill which would have people transferred to special quarantine facilities, if they spread ‘disinformation’, call for protests etc

    Nazi comparisons more valid by the day.

    Of course, it started with just 2 weeks to flatten the curve.

    It conflicts with the sovereignty of Parliament, so no, I don't think we should bind ourselves in. Canada hasn't in its trade deal with the EU, or, I think, the US
