I just couldn't be bothered to reduce it any further. Just look at the American woman who mows down a young kid out on his motorbike ... ... PM does absolutely f**k all because he won't dare hand over Prince Andrew. Cummings goes off to Durham, on holiday, and the PM grins. It's endless and shameful tbh.
They have. But I think their income includes some rather huge and questionable commercial endorsements, linked closely to their owners. Some of this contributed to their getting a bollocking and a fine from FIFA, those saintly guardians of probity.
Like I say mate historically correct, hence the court case, but the deal with Puma in particular was legitimate and that alone has covered most of their losses. They picked their books to bits and couldn’t find any wrongdoing last few years, they’ve reached a point now where companies will pay them big money. The Eitihad deals early doors were shady as ****.
Nice to see you joining in the forum , renewed straight away as per normal ,you will be pleased to know I enjoy sitting where I am as most of the people have been since the SOL opened are great and I want to retain my seat . Look forward to seeing you when crowds allowed to return , nice to hear from you , you and your family stay safe during these terrible times .
No doubt in my mind City were overpaid early on with the Etihad sponsorship deals which they were effectively getting from their owners but they are a very different beast nowadays. The City group sold a 13% stake to a chinese compnany back in 2015 for about £300 mil and followed that up with an american private equity firm buying a 10% stake for £388 mil in 2019.
Aye they fiddled it to get traction but they are phenomenally run now and the club sustains itself. All of the loopholes have been closed one by one, things like Wednesday and Derby getting pulled all falls back to what City did, but a lot of their fiddling was technically legal when they did it. It’s a super club now. The Puma deal rubber stamped that.
Not that i know but does Puma happen to have any tie in with Manshitty owners... if they did then yes a so called third party deal would avoid FFP rules?
Not that I’m aware of mate, they are spending big in clubs and endorsements last few years and I think City just happened to be the biggest PL club they could get. They had Arsenal then Adidas blew them away, they signed a few monster deals at same time, Dortmund, Milan and Marseille. Pure marketing by Puma. They’ve just agreed £23million a year for Neymar just to use him for promotion, they are after a slice of the lifestyle market that Nike and Adidas absolutely dominate and top end clubs and players bring that in.
They have Ferran Soriano to thank for that. He wanted to set up franchise clubs the way City Group has back when he was at Barcelona and the board nixxed the idea. Few years after leaving Barca he rocked up at City and the rest is history. Decent article from a few years back on him and his plans here. https://www.theguardian.com/news/2017/dec/15/manchester-city-football-group-ferran-soriano
Aye it’s the way forward mate, you are seeing it more and more with clubs owning multiple clubs. Long been the case in the US, City way ahead of the curve in the UK. You have Arsenal and Liverpool owners who own massive US franchises and that’s how it’s heading. Barca should have listened to him.
Barca were losing money when he rocked up there and he turned it round massively, also giving Pep the manager's job. After he left, Barca went into a bit of a decline and are now losing money again. In hindsight it has to be one of the worst decisions made at boardroom level in football, especially when you see how Man City have benefitted from his ideas.
Thats Barca all the way mate. So stuck in their ways and traditions that they won’t accept change even for the better. It’s exactly that that’s seeing them fall apart at the minute.
I understand the concept of how a business is meant to function, but what you fail to understand is football clubs are not like an ordinary business. Very very rarely will you find clubs that operate on a profit, especially out of the premier league. You may wish to read the article about Simon Jordan's tenure owning Crystal Palace. It's called "Buy a football club and lose a fortune"
Aye i thought you would renew, I did at first but health issues made me change my mind. Once they said they would keep your seat for when things return to normal I decided to hold off for now. I had a thought that even if a small amount of people were allowed into the stadium they would renege on the promise of a refund, I don`t trust them. Look after yourself and might see you soon.
All about opinions mate,I for one hope he’s being fed duff info and it’s at the EFL/GF are imminent owners. I’d say it’s all brinksmanship and people puffing their chest out etc wanting the best deal. The other ITK’s are quiet which is worrying.
