For those of a certain age -

 

Don't know why, but your first clip immediately reminded me of this...

 

for those of a certain age there is nothing like this
hands down the most striking and memorable sig tune and im surprised no one else has mentioned it.
loads of different versions and the end of the program used to feature different parts depending on the mood

 

and this intro deserved far more than the light hearted (but still watchable) hour that followed

 

dunno if i preferred the beat version or original

(showing my age now)

 

Same applies to the "Tomorrow's World" series. I'd forgotten it was A Johnny Dankworth omposition.

 

Sounds almost like Bruce's conveyor belt music
