Why? No idea. He's from Chester, went to Oxford and represents West Suffolk.

That's a bit ****. Can't they play the kids and use our ground or something? At least it would give them some cash and a chance.

I guess they have no idea who else in the club is totally clear. The medical staff, kit staff ground staff, catering staff etc could have all come into contact with those infected and the rest of the squad icluding their under 23s etc.
There is no way I would want us anywhere near there tbh especially with a Europa League game on Thursday, prem game on Sunday, Europa league the following Thursday and another prem game on the next Sunday.

Hope the club helps to raise money for them.

Depends on whether their first team train in the same area as the reserves/ youths because if they do they could all possibly test positive as well.

**** for Orient though, Prem draw at home in a cup and they’re gonna get jack for it. Looks like we’re raising funds for the JE3 Foundation but as for Orient themselves, not sure if there’s anything Spurs could/ can realistically do to help them.

Yeah that’s a good shout, wouldn’t even be surprised if something like that happens for 2021 pre-season.

    That is outrageous.
Can you imagine the **** storm if spurs players become infected after playing there?
It could wreck any chance we have in Europe and of fighting for the top 6.

What's the availability like of testing kits in the UK that come back fast? I Got tested a few weeks ago here in the States and got a result in less than 30 mins. Not all tests are like that but it is possible. If Orient can name a squad in the morning, test them there and then, then isolate until the game, then that is a solution as long as the results are safe. But I don't know if thats feasible.

If the game does go ahead, and even if some testing solution like above is possible, I expect us to risk absolutely no first teamers and for all the key staff to be working from the stands and masked up, manager and coaches included. God knows what we do about medical staff in that situation. If it goes ahead its going to be a massive headache.

No players of the club should be put at risk.
They shut all of football down cos a few managers and players had it yet seem to be unwilling to cancel one match with s clear risk.
If they insist it is to be played we should tell the to shove the cup.

****ing disgraceful to wait until just 7 or 8 hours before the game to decide.

  16. I reckon we'll boycott, if they say we've got to play it.

I agree with you, just trying to think practically how it could even be played. But even testing with near-immediate results in the morning of the game is an imperfect solution. As sad as it is for Orient, the game should be canned.

It is acknowledged that Covid is spreading through a large number of people not taking it seriously (I aint saying the world must be re locked down ) and playing this gsme will contridict everything being said about the need to take Covid seriously and about not taking unnecessary risks.

I genuinely am amazed that they are even considering playing the match.

  19. Exactly.

As you know, I don't agree with the lockdown. However, football is working hard to get fans back into stadiums against a raft of Government red tape. If this match is given the green light, so soon after so many players testing positive, it will look like football is taking the piss.

No way will it be given the green light.
