We need two proper cms in the immediate future, but ultimately we need a manager and coaching staff that can coach in a modern style over time.. I'm not confident Bruce knows what he's doing at all... 1 year, 100 million and not one shot on Goal at home vs Brighton... Thats pretty serious if you ask me.
Just to be clear I argued I didn't rate Fraser on the Fraser thread long before he signed.. He's just fast... His numbers are poor and he can't play football.. He was useless yesterday We've bought ****e... Average crap to add to the average crap we already have. I called it... This isn't a response to yesterday
I think Fraser will be of use. He is good back up to the likes of Almiron and ASM where our real quality lies. However playing him like that yesterday was absolutely disgraceful. To be honest if I was Fraser, I'd have battered down his door at 8:30 this morning to tell him he's a **** for making me look like a ****.
Max is injured... He was carrying a knock since West ham.. I could see it.. The one on the touchline 1st half... He then had a twist vs Blackburn and Bruce sent him out vs Lamptey yesterday.. We now cannot play 4 2 3 1 with max Fraser and miggy behind Wilson... We will have to use Joelinton or Murphy.
I don't think we have the CB's to play 4 at the back. None are mobile enough, and our young full backs are too undisciplined and attack minded. So we start with 3 at the back, primarily Schar as the right sided CB, either Fede or Lascelles in the middle, and either Clark or Dummett on the left side. 5 players with enough about them to work well. Wing backs pick themselves - Manq and Lewis are both reliable enough with good pace, engines and can cross. We should be picking up Willems for free to compete on the left, and using Yedlin/Ritchie as (poor) backup on the right. Then it's the middle. When all are fit, a front three of ASM, Wilson and Fraser would work well. I'd then have Almiron alongside either Hendrick or a Longstaff in midfield. Alternatively, you could add a midfielder and sacrifice Fraser to go more 5-3-2. Either way, when you have 3 at the back, you need midfielders who can transition quickly. Shelvey or Hayden adds another CB really. Playing both means you've got 7 at the back, which worked for Rafa but not for the squad we now have.
I just want a manager who plays pressing football, has the team on the front foot. I like possession based football cause then at least we’ll have a shot on target in a match! All I keep seeing is we want another CB. Granted we could do with one but is Bruce so blind he thinks we don’t need better than Shelvey & Hayden. Brighton played well yesterday, but how much of that was how **** we were? We’d have made Accrington look good yesterday.
