Anyway, to cheer me up I’ll just glance at the table.. oh yes... they are STILL down in the turd division ****ing over phantom £30m bids for their club.

to put that into perspective we sold Perez and Carroll and Sissoko for that amount or more....

I've missed the Mackem meltdowns. Can’t decide if Bri’s numerous ones or Smiggles were the best.

some tremendous popcorn moments back in the halcyon days of Not606..

They're hoping they go up and we go down.

That's possible, so cutting away all the bullshit they've got a glimmer of hope

Disgraceful performance from all concerned, no excuses. To a man they were all ****e and of course Bruce deserves a whole load of **** for the way he set us up. I said last week if we continued that archaic 90's football, better sides would just pass around us. That is exactly what Brighton did, it was embarrassing. The effort levels from the players was a disgrace to the shirt regardless of formation.

He got through the West Ham game because we were very organised. We were the complete opposite here, a complete shambles.

Selection was just a joke. If I am Miguel Almiron I'd request to leave. Unless that lad is carrying a knock, how on earth do you explain to him that Andy Carroll is starting ahead of him? Worse still he brings on Fraser instead of him! If I was Fraser I'd be livid with Bruce too. The lad hasn't kicked a ball in anger since March, what the **** was Bruce thinking? Lets embarrass the lad and give the fans a **** impression of him?

To be honest I'm a bit bewildered by yesterday. The last manager bored the ****ing pants off us but that yesterday didn't even manage that. For all I'm not a big Bruce fan, I kinda thought at least he is fairly steady based on last season. What we saw yesterday was a young modern manager, showing a 90's dinosaur how easily to pick apart that kind of set up. We haven't even got the right kind of midfielders for 442 if we are playing Hayden and Shelvey.

Yesterday just confirmed what I already knew. Until our chairman stops appointing dinosaurs or desperados like Bruce, Rafa, Pardew, Kinnear etc, we will be forever destined to watch football from a bygone era. Is it really that much to ask to get a younger manager with a positive modern outlook on football?

I realise I'm doing what I always criticise and jumping off the deep end, but I've had my fill with Ashley's managerial choices. I've watched one spell of decent football (Ba/Cisse/HBA/Cabaye) in 12yrs, I'm ****ing sick of it.

    Hallelujah...

Perhaps now you understand the benefits of having rafa as manager.. Organised and effective on the counter... We had a style of play basically and it was evident.

I want a young manager who is qualified and has demonstrated an ability to get sides playing possession football on the ****ing ground.

Like you say is it too much to ask?? Ashley's given Bruce everything so surely a younger manager that can string a sentence together would snap up the job...

Just call them as I see them mate, my position hasn't really changed.. Wasn't a fan when we got him, not a fan now. I don't buy into just slaughtering him because he is Bruce. He did a decent job and had us well organised last season. To say otherwise is purely down to bias. However you can't pretend yesterday wasn't a concern.

    1. Andy Carroll started ahead of one of our two best players - Andy ****ing Carroll! He was finished 3 seasons ago.
    2. Bruce proceeded to introduce a guy who has played one game of cup football since March, and has had no pre season. Again ahead of one of our best players. Absolutely sold Fraser down the river.
    3. We attempted to play 90's football, 442 and couldn't seem to work out why they just passed it round us

Rafa bored the ****ing pants off our fans. He played archaic stop the opposition counter attack. It was horrible. Some fans loved it because it meant we had the kudos of Rafa. I found that bizarre, I'd rather just watch good football. Instead of actually trying to go somewhere, Ashley just keeps appointing those he thinks have something to prove.

Keegan - hadn't been in the game for ages
Kinnear - **** me he was archaic in the 90's
Pardew - Ok not archaic style wise, but we went for him cause his stock was low
Hughton - Fell into the role
    McClaren - Just a **** heel
Benitez - Negative. Stock was at an all time low.
Bruce - Still playing 90's football, scraping by in the game.

Not a single one of those was an exciting appointment with a modern outlook. That's the reality of what you get when you keep appointing guys who the game has left behind. The only one out of those who will get by with any remnants of success is Rafa, because regardless what I might think of him, he is very good at stopping the other team play. I wanted Marcelo Gallardo about 5 seasons ago. If I can see this club needs dragging out of the past, why can't our executives.

The club is dead, unfortunately. A modern manager couldn't/wouldn't come, because they would bring fresh ideas that presumably wouldn't involve paddling pools and wheelie bins. We can only appeal to the desperate - and I'd put Benitez in that category, because no other club in this country wanted him. Ashley has obviously destroyed any ambition this club has, and that is obvious not just to this fanbase but to anyone within the game genuinely looking hard at the club and what is stands for.

The last vestige of hope is a new owner. Without it, we are absolutely doomed. For whatever reason, Bruce has fallen foul of both Lascelles and Ritchie - two influential figures, regardless of ability - and is sticking by two who absolutely kill a style of play in Carroll and Shelvey. To bomb out a committed and talented individual like Almiron is ****ing criminal. Then to start playing ASM as if he's a back-tracking wideman is so archaic it could only be communicated by fax.

The performance was the most chaotic I've seen and I maintain that this team is NOT playing for the manager. You're absolutely right, to have Fraser on the bench is mind-blowingly stupid and it's telling that both Longstaffs simply don't want to be involved here. I mean, bring in Hendrick to add depth - don't then **** on both Longstaffs by immediately making him first choice - and out of ****ing position.

Quite what's going through his head with Shelvey/Hayden midfield is anyones guess. We've finally added some modern players in ASM, WIlson, Fraser, Almiron, and the very first thing he does is go back to Sir Alex's 4-4-2 from 1994. I mean, even kids know about "playing between the lines" - if that team had taken on anyone from Leicester up, it would have been 8 or more nil. Spurs will have a field day - who's going to be up against Ndombele, Kane, Son?! It doesn't bear worth thinking about.

I hope Morecambe dump us out of the cup. The sooner Ashley packs up and ****s off - I cannot believe he's going to try and muddle through another self-made mess - the better. Ashley isn't going to get the club out of this ****, this time, and he knows it.

Was just thinking, we really need to go back to a back 3, and Schar/Fede/Clark are the best 3.

This is going to be like watching a car crash in slow motion.

****ing hell, first Roland and now you. You clearly only read what you want to. I'll break it down as simply as I can:

    1. I quite clearly did understand the benefit of having Rafa as manager. Same I understood the benefit of Bruce last season. I've said on several occasions he did a good job. His teams are **** to watch and he is a ****er. However he is good at stopping the oppo. Is that what i want for NUFC? Is it ****.

    2. There seems to be a misconception for some time I like Bruce as a manager. I've said several times I don't like him and I don't like how his teams play. I don't know how to say this any plainer to be honest. I did defend him last season for doing the same job as the previous incumbent, but getting a completely different reaction from our fans. I was simply pointing out the fans were being numptys. They were.

My stance is the stance for the last 12 years. Just take a punt on a young manager with a plan. You don't need to play negative football to survive in the PL. Football is about entertainment first as fans. We haven't had a single managerial appointment that hasn't had baggage. We haven't had one where you think "wow who is this young guy". Football constantly evolves.

Boring but we were effective.. We had a side that was coached to play a certain way... The next manager had a golden opportunity to add a little quality in midfield, instead we've swapped the strike force around, done **** all in midfield and swapped out cbs for the worst in the group..... Facts
