That was an excellent professional performance. Always looked in control.

If I was a Chelsea fan, I'd be seriously worried that my manager and team look ****ing terrified of the opposition.

75 - Half-time substitute Thiago completed more passes (75) than any Chelsea player managed in the entire match. Since full passing data is available for the Premier League (2003-04), his 75 successful passes are the most by a player who played a maximum of 45 minutes. Control.

Good result in what could have been a difficult game. If Hendo is injured then Thiago is the natural replacement. He looked good today and found his passes well, he will need a bit of time to get used to the speed of the Prem but looked a good player. I think he could be the answer when teams sit back as he can open up a defence with one pass. King Goblin is very nice, but bloody strong!

I think they'll get better - they've got a lot of new players to bed in. It all depends on Fat Frank, really - if he starts to panic and throw blame about it might undermine their confidence. It's crucial for them that he supports them and shows confidence in them for them to maintain it in themselves. This is what Klopp does so well, and people like Mourinho are so poor at.

They will get better, theyve got to much class coming in not to. But even taking the new signings out of the equation they had a strong team.

I cant imagine it does alot for your confidence, when your manager sets you up not to get a hiding from a team your supposed to be challenging for the title.

Good result that. Mane was outstanding. Hendo’s pass was sublime and he was everywhere first half. Special mention to Fabinho who was like a wall. Top performance this early in the season.

If Fat Frank can’t see the sending off as a red card, he doesn’t need new eyes, he needs the Hubble Telescope

"The second, four minutes later? Well, that was very much a self-inflicted wound. Mane lost the ball and in a state of fury continued chasing, Fikayo Tomori – on at half-time as Chelsea re-organised – tidied up by knocking a pass back to Arrizabalaga. He had all the time to take the easy route out. Instead he tried to play a short pass to Reece James which Mane read like a big print Janet and John book. He nicked the ball and tapped it into an empty net. Chelsea have had all summer to sort out this lamentable decline of such a vital player. Surely with Edouard Mendy’s transfer all but completed, his race is run." - Daily Mail

Love the Janet and John reference

Fabinho was immense today. Made some timely tackles, intercepted when necessary and looked comfortable on the ball - as you'd expect from a midfielder. Didn't looked out of place, but seems a waste to have our best DM as CB. Would still rather another CB come in.

I thought Henderson's first half was better than Thiago's second half but considering that's his first game with only one day of training with the squad, he can only get better and become more influential. So many of his passes through/over to the front free were just barely off. Soon as he clicks, they'll have a field day.

Very professional display. Thought first half was even with ya dominating but neither team creating anything. They were clearly keen not to press us and leave space.

no doubt sending off helped us, which was a clear red.

Brilliant first goal, second was sloppy but great closing from mane.

Got bit sloppy and gave them couple of chances and the pen was poor, shame from Thiago but great save from alisson.

thiago looks classy. Didn’t do an awful lot and prob won’t have easier debut out there coming on against 10 but kept the ball nicely and played some nice passes between the lines. Excited to see more of him

Oh and special mention to Fabinho. Should have got motm, absolutely brilliant playing at CB. Didn’t put a foot wrong and won all his 1v1 battles.
