When you consider how often a free kick is given when the “following leg” makes contact it could have been given as a free kick just because of that.
Don’t know why people are picking on McCarthy for their goal. Tbf you could say the two in the middle were beaten too easily by Ndombele. In reality it was class from him, and quality from Son. If McCarthy had come out and Son beat him to it and rolled it into an empty net he’d be slated. Son is quick and it was a top quality finish, just as Ings goal was. Disappointing from our point of view because we’ve been the better side, but that’s football. If we continue to attack like we have in the first half we should score again.
Would like to see whoever's passing drop the ball in front of the recipient a bit more often. We look a lot more explosive when they don't have to retrieve it.
