    Fans not happy on Twitter and others places but have to presume he wanted to go and hardly a surprise.

    Going to a top league and getting European football.

    And someone wanted him unlike all the high earners people want out.

    Centre back rather than left back though. I wonder if this means Dawson will be going? With Cathcart, Kabasele, Wilmot, Sierralta and now this guy, something has to give.
    At least no-one can complain about Gino ignoring the defence this season...

    Young defender Maxwell Statham has confirmed on social media that he has left Tottenham Hotspur and signed a contract with Watford.

    The 20-year-old centre-back graduated through the Spurs academy and has represented the club at various age groups.

    I think that’s good for both parties. He can still do a job at the slower pace of Serie A. I feel he was past it last season but it annoys me some fans seem so negative about him, he’s been a match winning player for us in the past and given us years of service.
