Maybe it’s just the law of averages, he was bound to have a few dodgy moments/matches at some stage? You’re definitely right about lack of cover though.
I’m with you on this one we need to stop belly aching and enjoy the ride I will accept a 4-3 win any day
I think he is and will continue to be a very good keeper, just thought he had a poor game yesterday and by his body language so did he, this is when you find out a young players mettle, does it make them determined to do better or will it effect them. Reports when he came to the club were saying how confident and assured he is, so hopefully it will be the former.
Too many 5&6 performers yesterday with the only stand outs being Klich, Costa Bamford and Alioski we need to have that lynchpin in the middle quarter backing play otherwise we lose possession which means the ball is in our defensive area, which makes conceding more likely. Our way of defending is attacking and when it fails?...... on the subject of Meslier I would go for Sergio Romero on a 2 year contract as our starting keeper, whos brief is to help and encourage Meslier with a view to taking over from Romero in 2 seasons. Romero has started 177 first class matches and played 96 times for Argentina, last season he made De Gea look like a clown and the reason he is leaving Man Utd. Cheap as chips and seems sensible on wages and demands
Missed most of the game but watched the last 20 minutes in the pub with another Leeds fan (might have to start up a Billericay fan club). He thought the problem was missing Ben White in defence. I think Koch will be good once he gets up to the pace of English football.
I don’t think White would’ve made any difference. He played in games last season where we conceded a few goals - the Cardiff debacle where we were 3-0 up and drew 3-3. Birmingham 4-5 etc.
Phil Hay has just stated that the links to Man Utd and Dam James are true. If Man Utd want to offload Leeds are willing to take him on loan with a view to buy next season. Phil says he is in the middle of an article about it for The Athletic coming out later today. So could be down to the wire again waiting for them to buy a new right side flyer like Sancho? if Leeds only want a loan to buy deal then it follows that our £40m-£50m remaining budget is earmarked elsewhere
Tricky one as we’re going to think about how good White was but easily forget it was against Championship standards. Would he have looked so good against PL attacks, we’ll just never know as Brighton play different to us. I personally don’t believe White will ever command a £40m price tag again but who knows
White will be missed there's no doubt. Koch has had 2 eventful games but he only trained for 2 days before his first, and then gets a new partner for the second, it takes time to gel at the back, that's why I think we should have played the same back 4 and keeper against Hull. Last year when we played Fulham a lot were saying we could do a lot worse than go for Hector if they don't go up, he was dog **** yesterday.
For your weekly Rodrigo De Paul intake, here is something new from this mornings La Republica and a very well connected journo. There are still loads of clickbait stories but this one moves away from those. The Journo heard a story earlier in the week that Pozzo needed the cash and De Paul would need to go as he is their most prized asset. On Friday he believes that out of all the interest from Russia, Spain, Germany and Italy, the best price offered is from Leeds. Leeds have apparently tabled a €30m offer and Pozzo was adamant that he wanted €40m (£37.6m) with the deadline approaching fastPozzo says he will allow De Paul to go for €30m plus add ons that get him to €35m. Leeds will accept this and the journo says Leeds have won the player? Now it could be bollox boys but it does make sense as De Paul refused to go to Russia and any team in Italy wanting him need to sell ad even ten wouldnt be able to get within the price. 2 German clubs and a Spanish team cannot afford him and if true that Pozzo needs cash he must accept our offer. This is a public service on your behalf so dont shoot the messenger
I notice that 3 of Paddy Bamford's worst critics all now think he’s the dogz, funny that isn’t it especially as 2 are ex Leeds players. Jermain Jennas Noel Whelan Danny Mills Take a bow fellas
Well for starters Jenas is a sanctimonious barsteward can’t stand the guy The other is keown can’t wait for them to have to eat their words viz a viz Leeds
Dont get me started on Keown. For personal reasons I have a beef with him. A few years ago as oart of a corporate event I played at Wembley. It was a great day the event was sponsored by Carlsberg and the teams were on the electronic score board so got to see my name in lights. Keown was commentating and every time the ball came near me he said “the old boy can move a bit” crap like that and when I smashed one in from the edge of the box he still had a go. Long story short we had to do the steps up to get the trophy and he was up there shaking hands with the players etc and he got ignored by me who said the lanky curly fella isnt as funny as he thinks.
Good Afternoon to Doc Matt and co from a wet Bardsey I think that Bamford plays much better when he doesn't have the fans on his back He is different again playing in empty stadiums as is Costa Well Doc are we really after James I supose it will hinge round Sancho I do hope Koch settles down and has a bit of luck because he will be OK DePaul I think will sign next week
Tell you what, if Wakey ever says he had a good game Bamford would be looking at PFA Player of the Year. Lucky he was on a flight back from his latest 18 to 80 holiday, even he would have struggled to criticise Paddy yesterday
