Still need at least 3 players First good side we meet we will lose too... Forgive and forget?...do fukkoff. Allams OUT
Can't see anyone has put highlights up yet, but I'm rubbish at spotting these things. Just in case. https://www.skysports.com/watch/vid...mpetitions/league-one/12076454/hull-1-0-crewe
Having a couple of pints for beating Sunderland, a couple for beating Gillingham, a couple for today and a couple for beating Leeds plus with it been them a gin and tonic to end. If I post one of my happy idiotic posts later on ignore me and yes I know I do a lot of them. It's just nice to have that winning feeling again. ENJOY
Just watched the Sky highlights.... limited as they were and from some of the positive comments on here, there's still a lot of work to do before the 'p' word should be mentioned... but little acorns and all that...
I know there are loads of things I don't understand, but that phrase to me feels it is one that's written the wrong way round. An oak grew from an acorn, but looking at the number of acorns and the number of oak trees, most acorns turn into squirrel **** rather than oak trees don't they?
We've got our own decent youngsters though, why block their path to bring in someone else's kids to develop. Unless that player is going to have a massive impact, of course
Because it's safe to assume that youngsters from a Premier League club are going to be more ready for League One football than ones coming through our own system. It's not nailed on, and I'm sure we'll see a lot of the likes of Greaves, Chadwick and Sheaf, but I think it's more likely we'll see lads come in as well.
While in the past I would've completely agreed, our academy has improved tenfold, you could see that as we matched Leicesters 21s extremely evenly in the EFL Trophy game. They've got a very good Cat 1 academy side too. Maybe I'm somewhat biased as I'm not a big fan of the loan system, but I'd always rather we use our own players. That being said, we've been linked with Robbie Gotts and thought he looked tidy when he came on midweek but why do Leeds loan him to us to sit on our bench?
Well in a 50 odd game season and given our injury record, I can't see the current three lasting all season. Outside of the current three and Batty, there's not much in the way of quality depth.
I wanted us to get 2 more 8s (box-to-box) midfielders as we're majorly short. But then I thought, that second one you bring in is barely going to play. So we either stick with Jones and Sheaf to cover that spot or you bring somebody in and it probably allows both to go out on loan. Clearly we still need to bring one in, but that was my thinking. With the cap, that 2nd midfielder would have to be u21 anyway I'd assume so that they don't count too. I suppose it depends on who becomes available. But to be fair to C Jones, I think he's had a tremendous start to the season and deserves his place in the squad. It's not an easy decision
The cap doesn't stop age, it's just about wages. We don't need to register a set amount of players in this division, there's no rules below the PL for the amount we can play over 21. I think Jones would be better for a loan until January. But that would be harsh, like you said he's had a good start to the season.
