He signed permanently for Peterborough just the other week. Decent player though.

He is. More of a playmaker/attacking midfielder than anything but I'd have him in our team over Honeyman in that role any day of the week. Apparently he was on loan at Peterborough last season and Sunderland and Portsmouth were interested in him this summer as well but he eventually went back to Peterborough permanently for £1 million.

54 starts, 21 sub appearances in his last two seasons for us, again, the same as Huddersfield.

You should probably drop this now. <laugh>

Whyhe was first choice striker for us and
not for them. And he made more appearance as a starter for us than for them. So no you’re wrong.

Are you two booked in for the all night argument or just the 1 hour version?

Wilks in this league can be our number 9 ahead of Magennis and Eaves. We have the solutions to our problems already in the building.

Got to be happy with 3 points, momentum and confidence can take you a long way. Got to get that right balance up front, today they were well organised so good movement is needed. We have been playing Wilks and klp has wide men, for me they are more inside forwards and will never be the type of tricky winger putting crosses in. Prefer Wilks down the middle but still think we need another forward in with good movement. Do that and we have a chance in this league. Despite it been a mixed performance, better second half but how good does it feel to have that Saturday night winning feeling.

Agreed, somebody as dynamic as Mayer on the other wing would be brilliant.

Well let me explain. I refuse to pay £10 to Ehab after what he continues to do. Therefore I followed the match on bbc text, through comments made on this forum which was supplemented by messages from the chap who I usually attend matches with (he was watching). Forgive me if that appears somewhat at odds with what you think I should do but I don't ****ing care really. If I am wrong about it not appearing a very good performance, so ****ing what! It doesn't really matter. We won and that is all that matters.

    Hope that helps your understanding.

I wish I had taken my life in my hands and gone down the pub when I saw that result to see look on the faces of all the inadequates as "their" team came a cropper. Good old Roy Hodgson still coming up with the goods.

You aren't giving it to Ehab as such. It is an EFL decision that the charge is£10. How much the clubs get I don't know.
It wasn't a great display but goals not performance is what matters. Crystal Palace only had 25% possession but I don't think Roy Hodgson will be losing any sleep over that.

Might be a decent idea to send some encouraging messages to Mayer on Instagram if you've got an account. He does respond :emoticon-0142-happy

Make him feel extra welcome, unlike the poor Frenchie that got stood up at the train station

Been very impressed by him so far

Wilks is feckin' hopeless as a winger, but despite a few fluffs at least can find the net at #9 and looks up for it. He was trying to drift inwards today. It was almost like 'Grant, let me play here please!'. Given a run with decent service, he may or may not be the answer but at least we'll probably see the best of him. Apparently Magennis can 'rough up defences'. Fine, then stick him on the bench and bring him on if we need that in league one. When we had Jarrod & Kamil we scared the **** out of defences, and whilst I am not for one minute suggesting that Mayer and KLP/Scot are equivalents, surely we look more effective going forward with some pace and guile? I love Burke and De Wijs but they looked like they were still in last season mode at times. We've seen them boss it, but they look woefully lacking in confidence. We have the players to mix it up and work this through. Rant over, I am pissed and none of this may make any sense. UTT
