I love seeing old cars still on the roads. The difference in styles to modern motors is startling.

100% agree. Everything looks the same unless you have silly money to spend. Seeing classic jags, mgs, pre war cars etc on the road is great

My youngest has a Classic Mini City, 1991. Let’s me drive it every blue moon. Now that is real driving. Also people always stare, point and smile. Wonderful car to drive but wouldn’t want it as everyday drive.

First car Red Mark one Ford Escort cost about £50. No idea of mileage.
Ugliest a tie between a mustard Fiat mirafiori and a Fiat Multipla.
    Current Volvo V90.

Bentley, followed by a Rolls, followed by my favourite, Vauxhall Astra.

    Great cars, especially the latter.

Skoda Fabia 1998 model, bought it in 2006. Was an excellent car, I used to have to travel all over to write contracts for companies (I lived in Leicester, worked in Grantham and I recall one week I was in Southport two days, Middlesex Wednesday and then near Bristol on the Friday - only stayed out one night, all others I was home in Leicester by evening). Did almost 40k miles in 9 months of the job and it gave me no issues except a fan which kept misting up the windows more than clear them so had to drive with the windows partially down even when going fast and in the rain (fun times). Had it for 3-4 years but ran it into the ground, still going when i sold it though (bought £1999, sold £700 - good value I'd say).

Always liked a Skoda since then, tried a Golf and didn't like it as much (realistically the one we had was almost certainly just a bit of a dud rather than representative of them overall but...) so had another Fabia for the last 11 years - still passing it's MOT with no issues. Happy days.

These are my cars through the years...not the actual cars (apart from the last photo). Think I paid about £500 for my first mk2 cavalier and had about 5 of them...easy to fix and parts cheap as fook from the scrapyard. Favourite one would have to be the white Peugeot 309 GTI...nearly **** mesell when I put me foot down in it, like **** off a very shiney stick!

Actually learnt to drive in States in an Impala. Then came back to UK and bought a Ford Escort and took my test in that. Let my sister in law and then my brother use it when I moved to Peru and the bastard sold it.

Last car I bought in UK was a BMW X6 but only driven it to Tesco while Mrs has put 4000mles on it since June. Got some cool gadgets on it - parks itself, wireless phone charger. But my favourite is the hand gesture controls. Uses an interior camera to pick up hand gestures to control radio etc. You can have 5 customised ones as well. Was trying to programme it to sound the horn when I stuck my middle finger up.

Vauxhall Corsa first car. Slow as he'll but cheap to run. No major issues.

Ford Focus. Worst car I have ever owned. Always in the garage. EGR issues, rust, exhaust, wheels. Never ever buy another Ford.

Alfa Romeo Mito. Current car and simply sublime. Gorgeous to look at. Reliable. Nippy and fun to drive.
