The only tranny news is the usual clickbait journalism from the red tops, but one thing thats getting plenty of lines is about Joe Gelhardt and why he should be fast-tracked into the first team. I have watched him twice this week and his performance yesterday was brilliant. Hes scored 3 goals in 4 games including freindlies and 2 this week. His strike partner Sam Greenwood has scored 3 as well including 2 this week, but Gelhardt really does have something special. I saw him tackle in his own box and beat 4 players at speed down the wing and was stopped in the opposition box. I saw him win the ball in the middle and drive through tackles with ease and lay off a great ball. His goal yesterday saw him surrounded with players and he just walked through them and slotted home. When I read about the comparisons to Rooney I thought ok we’ll see, but seriously this kid could end up as Ortas best ever buy. Not seen anything like him for a while
Looking at the kids we brought in for the 23s I would say the 2 Dutch lads I cant comment on yet as Van De Hueaval didnt have much to do yesterday except pick the ball out of the net twice and Jimmy Summerville hasn't featured yet. Cody Dramah was bought as a left back but this week in 2 games I have seen him used on the right of a back 3 and the first game we had no defence and was a joke, but yesterday besides being at fault for their first goal he was a giant. He was everywhere along the back line and he even cleared off the line. He was always the last man and not once did anyone get past him, he was awesome, so be interested to see how Jacko and Bielsa coach him because it was odd to see the best right back in the 23s on the left and Cody on the right. Obviously looking to see what they can do Sam Greenwood is going to score goals end of. He is going to be a top player and he is tracking back and winning the ball and doing exactly what Bamford does, but he also scores from all over and has a great shot on him. But Joe (Joffy to the lads) is special
Morning Doc, Regarding Gelhardt (Joffy), what role has he been playing and what would you say he brings to that role ? From the little I've seen he seems to be more of a 2nd striker rather than an out and out centre forward. If that's the case then he'll need to add other aspects to his game before Bielsa gived him the nod, by which I mean whenever Tyler Roberts comes on our midfield suffers a little and the opposition get more control/success in that area. Happened again last week against Liverpool and put us under more presssure for the last 15 mins.
Yesterday he was everywhere and I mean everywhere along the front line. He has 9 on his back but Greenwood with 10 on his back seems to be rotating with Joffy. Gelhardt I would say looks like he has a free role which amazes me in Bielsaball or hes just busking it? He wasnt shouted at or dragged off he just goes for the throat and that could be in midfield or even defence. I think hes an outstanding player anywhere on the pitch and I include playing at No10. I saw him playing right wing, No10, CF and RB. Hes just outstanding. Energy, skill, pace, attitude, tigerish in the tackle against a big lump yesterday who was breaking up our play in the middle, Joffy went in and the lump was off the deck completely and on his ass, with Joffy having the ball again.
Jammy I would have Joffy on the bench and brought on to play No10 before Roberts any day of the week. I would also have on the bench to give us more options up front or even right wing. The kid is special and I recommend everyone take a look at him in the next U23 match which you can get on twitter. I think the official site will have a repeat of the whole game from yesterday too. Niall Huggins was also a bit special yesterday and got MoM And if he can do that every game we have another breakthrough player. Huggins was on a oar with Joffy yesterday but he was doing his job, Gelhardt seemed to be doing everyones job
Thank you for the welcome, both. Maybe it’s me that’s the sensitive soul? You’ll all just have to take my word (or not as you choose) when I tell you this is the first time I’ve been on this board. I can’t say fairer than that, nor will I say it again.
There is no freedom of speech if you are white. End of. Sky Sports has turned into the political far left spokesman. I've no problem with opposite opinions, but you've seen it on here that anyone with any right wing sympathies is either banned or warned. FREE SPEECH MY BOLLOCKS.
Did I miss anything from yesterday. I was pissed early so decided to stay off the site in case the sensitive leftie brigade targeted me in their cross hairs.
Well here i am at zante airport waiting for my flight to leeds. But we are all now going to manchester and then a bus to leeds/bradford. After two days of a hurricane..
