A lot of what happens down in the lower leagues, gets overlooked due to the focus on the big clubs. As some of you might remember The Gills reduced their playing staff to 7 during the virus, as everyone had to come off the wage bill. This was to Bristol Rovers benefit who picked up two decent players from us in Ehmer and Hanlan. So we had to build a new team from loans, with help from the development sides of Arsenal, Spurs and Celtic (4 players), obviously this is appreciated. However, the season starts, and after our first league game, against Hull City, we lost a midfielder immediately to an injury during the game. Unknown then but worse was to come, in the League Cup game (Carabao) we lost the other midfielder to a suspected broken leg against Coventry, both these injured players alternated the Captain role. Evans was left with the stark reality, that on Saturday going to Wigan, we only had around 12-13 players to take! We all know a team can not play 90 minutes with that reality. Thankfully, Coventry have stepped forward after our league cup game against them, and given us Josh Eccles on a season loan, he was seen as probably the playmaker for Coventry in the previous game. BTW we didn't deserve to win, luck for the result was on our side. Naturally it goes without saying we are grateful to Coventry for stepping in and helping us. Otherwise Steve Evans would have had to look at kids that are not ready for first team football. Evans has done a brilliant job in getting this squad together, he has his haters within football in general, but at the moment, the bad boy has come good.
They played quite well against us for the first quarter but they collapsed after we scored ... didn't seem like they really believed they could get back in it... Expect Livermore to try and kick lumps out of Rodriguez; he was very lucky not to pick up a second yellow against us - hacked down Praet, Tielemans and Barnes ... nasty little **** ...
I can’t stand Bilic, and that’s fairly universal amongst Blues for what he did when he was at Goodison - which was largely to just take the piss. I’m fully expecting them to go full yard dog today.
3-0 was a flattering scoreline I though Leicester were poor, but West brom lack a cutting edge and have an atrocious defence... Everton looked a good side I fully expect a comfortable win
Nope ... they had one attempt at goal all game and their keeper kept them in it first half with 3 excellent stops ... scoreline could have easily been 5 or 6, so not flattering at all ... slightly disappointing in fact ... total control in the second half
Well as a neutral I'm telling you Leicester looked poor... 2 gifted pens and a bundled home header. Never looked a threat..
You are a twat 'gifted penalties' ... 'bundled home header' ... you watched the whole game too eh? ... well that's dedication... thank you... certainly won't be reciprocating to watch your drop dodgers
I didn't think you looked very good at all... The two pens given away got you out of jail.. West brom were the better team 1st half and that says it all.. Leicester were better 2nd half, but West brom bottled it rather than Leicester being particularly good.
... so ignoring the fact that their keeper made 3 really good first half saves and the closest they came was Schmeichel blocking a scuffed cross with his legs ... you do talk out of your fart pipe ... they competed for 20 minutes, as you would expect ... but they have nobody that would get in our first team ... and that difference in quality was obvious.... hence the result
You're arguing with Fosse bro. They could sign an actual turd and paint it blue, he'd defend it as genius. Mans a cultist.
Well as long as we keep getting 3-0 scorelines and dominating games to that degree, I'm happy to carry on beiing fooled... Meanwhile you keep dreaming your Fake Sheikh, Lawrence of Arabia fantasy.... but the football world has changed mate - we'll be wearing Adidas and competing for European places for the foreseable future whilst your lot will still be in Everlast gear dodging the drop... or not
Chaos said he doesnt think they played very well. Fosse being a 60+ man child blew his top, unable to talk football. Pretty standard stuff for the bloke tbph
